O projekcie Elephant Weight Waga Słonia

Tekst: Waga Słonia to zabawka edukacyjna do wczesnej nauki matematyki, przeznaczona dla dzieci powyżej trzeciego roku życia. Projekt inspirowany jest tradycyjną chińską opowieścią o Cao Chongu ważącym słonia, w której zasada równoważenia służy do zmierzenia dużego przedmiotu za pomocą wielu mniejszych. Każdy mały odważnik w kształcie słonia oznaczony jest swoją masą, od 5 do 100 gramów. Przedmiot umieszcza się w łódce, zaznacza poziom jej zanurzenia, a następnie dokłada odważniki, aż kadłub powróci do tego poziomu. Dzieci, sumując oznaczone wartości, uczą się pojęć wagi i liczb.
