Sobre Kalky Ragged Luminária Pendente

Kalky Ragged é uma luminária pendente com cúpula feita de papel vegetal. A cúpula é produzida com uma tecnologia desenvolvida pelo próprio autor, que combina tingimento manual, impregnação, costura e rebitagem. A estrutura vazada da cúpula é altamente flexível, de modo que ela pode ser invertida para obter uma forma de luminária completamente diferente. A inversão exige apenas o reposicionamento da fixação do suporte da fonte de luz e leva cerca de dez segundos. As bordas rasgadas à mão dos componentes da cúpula contrastam com o corte reto. A luminária mede 60 por 60 por 30 centímetros sem o cabo.

Propriedades Únicas: Kalky ragged is a lamp with a lampshade, made with the use of self-developed technology, which consists of manual dyeing, impregnation, as well as sewing and riveting tracing paper. The openwork structure of the lampshade with a high degree of flexibility allows the shade to be inverted and thus obtain a completely different lamp form. Reversing is simple and only involves repositioning the mounting of the light source holder. An important element of the design is the hand-teared edge of the lampshade components, contrasting with the straight cut.

Desafio de Design: The biggest challenge in creating Kalky Ragged was finding a way to convey specific emotions in the product. The purpose of its creation was to present it at an exhibition on a specific topic. Finding a way to express emotions using hand-peeled edge treatment of the components resulted in a visually appealing object that was eventually implemented as a product.
Inspiração: The main inspiration of this design was self-developed technology and material created with use of it. Its characteristics became the basis for creating a flexible spatial structure, constituting the basis for creating a lamp with a seemingly traditional form, the main idea of which was to change the shape in the simplest possible way.
Duração do Projeto: The Kalky Ragged project started in February 2022, made especially for the exhibition Nie!Pokoj, as the joint appeal of artists and designers for peace in Ukraine. The exhibition at the Academic Center of Design in Łódź took place from 08.03 to 31.05.2022. Next Kalky Ragged was included to the Bozzetti collection.
Fluxo de Operação: Kalky ragged is a reversible lamp. Flipping is simple and only requires changing the mounting position of the light source holder. It takes about 10 seconds and allows the user to choose the preferred shape of the lampshade.
