About Parachute Настенная полка
Parachute — настенная полка из листового металла. Когда секция задействована, планка этой секции опускается вниз и остаётся в подвешенном положении. Такая откинутая планка удерживает пальто, журнал или подобные предметы, не давая им упасть. Поверхность покрыта цветными полосами, разделёнными тонкими промежутками, благодаря чему полка напоминает графический облик современного парашюта и может восприниматься как настенный арт-объект. Размеры Parachute: 790 мм в ширину, 30 мм в глубину и 220 мм в высоту. Название объединяет идеи защиты и падения.

With the colored stripes separated by thin spaces, the graphic design is reminiscent of a modern parachute; this theme is transformed, in a recognisable and aesthetically successful manner, into an original shelf design. - Design Challenge

- When listening to Coldplay's first album, it suddenly occurred to me to look up the word "Parachute."
It seems that the name "parachute" comes combining the Italian "parare" (to protect) with the French "chute" (to fall).
I thought that was a rather fine name.
I tried to think of devices that protect against falling.

- The project started in April 2017 in Tokyo and finished in October 2018 in Tokyo, and Yusuke Watanabe was exhibited in Salone del Mobile in April 2018.
