About Side Umukoro Nyamukuru: Intebe y'Inama
Umwandiko w'Igitabo: Side ni intebe y'inama yagenewe kwifashishwa mu biganiro, amahugurwa, inama n'ahantu ho gutegereza. Intebe irashobora gushyirwa hejuru y'indi (stackable) kandi ikaboshywa mu mirongo. Hariho na tabure yo kwandikaho yisubiza ubwayo (self-returning writing tablet) nk'uburyo bwo guhitamo, ihindura Side ikaba akazu gato ko gukoreramo. Umubiri w'intebe ukozwe mu buryo bumwe (monocoque) bwa pulasitiki, naho ikadiri yayo ikozwe muri aluminiyumu n'ibyuma bindi. Umugongo w'intebe ufite ubushobozi bwo kunanuka (elastic backrest), ukozwe muri polypropylene, ushigikira ikibuno, mu gihe icyicaro cyo kwicaraho kigizwe n'ibirindiro byoroshye kugira ngo umuntu yicare neza. - Production Technology
- Side is composed by a monocoque plastic body available in different colors and a mixed framework made of aluminium and other metals.
Ergonomic design with the elastic chair back made of new PP material, comfortably support the waist. Appropriate support can effectively relieve human body pressure.
Functional solutions like the easy aggregation system and the availability of a tablet fitted well into the design.
The decision of developing a monocoque body gave us the possibility of creating a big family of products: Side is available with a lot of different basis such as sled, four legs, five spokes with wheels and so on. - Design Challenge
- The challenge is always the same: being able to create a product that is beautiful to look at, with reasonable production costs to reach a fair final price to be competitive on the international markets.
- Research
- The request was to create a contract chair with metal supporting structure and seat-backrest in plastic material; its armrests have a strong support to support the side tablet (aluminum painted in various colors).
- Inspiration
- After about 30 years of commitment in the design activity, and many of these involved in the design for seating, this project is the result of a great knowledge of both functions and form.
- Project Duration
- The project startet in March 2020 in Ponsacco (PI) and finished in March 2021 in Ponsacco (PI) and presented in March 2021 at the 47th CIFF (China International Furniture Fair) in Guangzhou, China
- Operation Flow
- This is a “contract” chair, for use in public spaces, such as meeting rooms and waiting areas, in general it is transformed with a practical tablet, becoming a small workstation.
