About Fred Igikomo

Hariho ubwoko bwinshi butandukanye bwikariso nuduseke: abashushanya, zahabu, plastike, bihendutse kandi bihenze… ariko byiza nkuko biri, byose bihora byoroshye kandi gusa. Fred ni ikindi kintu. Iyi cuffs mubworoshye bwabo isubizamo noblesse yibihe byashize, nyamara biragezweho. Bashobora kwambarwa mumaboko yambaye ubusa kimwe no kuri blus ya silike cyangwa swater yumukara, kandi bazahora bongeraho gukoraho kumasomo kubantu bambaye. Izi bracelets zirihariye kuko ziza ari ebyiri. Nibyoroshye cyane bigatuma kwambara bitoroha. Nukwambara, umuntu azaboneka rwose!

Fred Igikomo ni uwegukanye Igihembo cya A' Design Award cya Ifeza, ishimwe ridasanzwe ry'agaciro gakomeye ritangwa ku bishushanyo byo ku rwego rwo hejuru, byiza kandi bikora ku mutima. Abegukanye Ifeza ni ibihangano by'ubuhanga bukomeye kandi bifite guhanga kwinshi, bigaragaza ubuhanga bwimbitse, impano n'ubushishozi bw'ababihanze. Fred Igikomo biteganyijwe ko izaba igihangano cy'icyitegererezo, gifite ubunyamwuga bukomeye n'udushya twimbitse. Iki gishushanyo cyegukanye Ifeza ni igihangano kizwi kandi gishimwa, gifasha kugura imbibi z'ubuhanzi, ubumenyi, ubushushanyo n'ikoranabuhanga. Unique Properties: These bracelets are unique because they come as a pair. They are very light which makes their wearing comfortable
Dimensions & Packaging: Dimension, Package and Technical properties: Cuffs are 13 cm long, 12 cm high and 6 cm wide. They come in pair and are packed in an orange - pink protective pouch tied with the orange bow.

Production Technology: Cuffs are made out of light white plastic used for billboards.
Design Challenge: The real challenge was finding the way to bend the material at home without professional machines and to find something that would look as a cuff link. But it also was a work with many gleeful errors.
Research: The research was focused on finding the right dimension for the cuffs and finding the way to make something weareable out of the material ment for something else.
Inspiration: The inspiration: I often go to the theatre and like to dress for the occasion. I like to have something new and different every time I go. Once while I was thinking what to wear this time, there was a movie with Fred Astaire on the TV. I saw his sleek suit, his cuffs… and voila – the idea was born! I remembered cuffs and plastrons worn by men in the last century and decided to revive it in a modern way, this time as a part o woman garment.
Project Duration: The project started in March of 2012. in Zagreb and was finished in two weeks. During that time I was trying to find out the right dimension for comfortable wearing bracelets and the way to bend the plastic at home.
Operation Flow: The research was focused on finding the right dimension for the cuffs.
