About Icy ابتدائي ڪم: ڪاڪ ٽيل گلاس

آئسي هڪ ڪاڪ ٽيل گلاس آهي جيڪو ٿڌن مشروبن ۽ تہ دار ڪاڪ ٽيلز لاءِ ٺاهيو ويو آهي. هر ٽڪرو فن لينڊ جي هڪ اسٽوڊيو ۾ وات سان ڦوڪيو ويندو آهي ۽ ڪاٺ جي ٿلهي ۾ شڪل ڏني ويندي آهي. هڪ قديم وينشيائي طريقو برف جهڙي ڦٽيل سطح پيدا ڪري ٿو، جڏهن ته شڪل جديد اسڪينڊينيوين سادگيءَ جي پيروي ڪري ٿي. ڪنارو باهه سان ختم ڪيو ويندو آهي ته جيئن هڪ هموار ڪنارو ملي. گلاس جو قطر 80 ملي ميٽر ۽ اوچائي 100 ملي ميٽر آهي، جيڪو هٿ ۾ مضبوطيءَ جو احساس ڏئي ٿو. هر گلاس تي دستخط ۽ نمبر لڳل هوندو آهي. مقصد اهڙيون پائيدار روزمره جون شيون ٺاهڻ آهي جيڪي ڏهاڪن تائين هلن.

Unique Properties: The Icy glasses by Sini Majuri are perfect for serving chilled drinks and cocktails. Studio made drinking vessels are expertly handcrafted in Finland. Simple yet vibrant shape highlights the details of a designer cocktail and also more traditional beverages.

The design philosophy in Icy series is to create elegant, timeless and durable everyday objects with soul. An important part of the value base of the objects is to preserve and enliven the disappearing craftsmanship of studio made glass.
Dimensions & Packaging: The diameter of the Icy glass is 80 mm and heigh 100 mm. The dimensions are designed so that the tumbler offers a sturdy feel in the hand and the capacity of the glass is suitable for modern designer drinks.

Production Technology: The ancient Venetian glass blowing tecnique for creating the crackled icy surface is combined with fresh 3D designed Scandinavian shape. The piece is blown into a wooden mold. The rim finishing is made with a flame, for creating smooth and high quality finish. Icy glasses are studio made, mouth blown glass. Glasses are signed and numbered.
Design Challenge: The creative challenge was to combine Venetian tradition with modern simplicity in order to create harmony. The main technique in the process is crackling the glass. It was vital to find the perfect structure, so that the effect remain elegant and the surface is resistant. Durability and performance of the object were important goals in the process. Combination of techniques made the object extremely durable, which is important in drinking glasses designed to last for decades.
Research: The starting point of the process has been to design objects that the user attaches emotional value to. Glasses are made to last for decades. The contrasts in nature and the way they create harmony is desired to be captured in the collection. The rhythm of the glass making process ensures that each object has a individual texture that mimics the movement of the frozen ice.
Inspiration: The Icy Cocktail Glass is inspired by Northern nature and the different states of ice. The project combines ancient Venetian tradition with modern Scandinavian simplicity and usability.

The main aim of the design has been to create future classics, objects that are more than mere drinking glasses. Each studio made piece has unique charisma that is based on the subtle details of the object.
Project Duration: Icy glasses are studio made in Finland. The pieces are designed in 2020 in Helsinki.
Operation Flow: The designer tumbler offers a satisfyingly weighty feel in the hand. The moment when a unique Icy glass is used is special. It is designed to bring harmonious and atmospheric shades to the everyday life. When light is gleaming trough the glass with icy texture, the shadow looks like moving water. The use of the medium is based on the optical properties of glass. Therefore the lively shadows and reflections are important part of the interaction with the glass. The capacity of the drinking glass is aimed for classic drinks and it is specially suitable for layered designer cocktails.
