About Blink Kućni medicinski uređaj

Blink je kućni medicinski uređaj dizajniran za merenje vitalnih znakova i obavljanje osnovnih medicinskih testova. Kompaktna jedinica meri krvni pritisak i telesnu temperaturu, a takođe podržava testove krvi, urina i pljuvačke. Blink vodi korisnika kroz svaki korak prikupljanja podataka i izveštavanja rezultata lekaru, koji zauzvrat može poslati povratnu informaciju. Korisnički profili omogućavaju da isti uređaj koristi više članova porodice. Pouzdani podaci prikupljeni kod kuće olakšavaju postavljanje dijagnoze i smanjuju vreme, troškove i napor potreban za rutinsko testiranje. Dimenzije uređaja Blink su 200 mm x 130 mm x 160 mm.

Design Challenge
One of the design challenges was to determine the product’s core elements and to organize them in the most accessible and compact way. Hygiene, guidance, and communication were the main considerations. The device also had to be suitable for home use and guide the user through each stage of use.
Research
My original impetus for the idea was to empower the user to be more proactive about his health rather than being reactive. In order to increase the quality of healthcare, I tried to find alternative solutions for better and healthier communication between the patient and the physician. I have visited biochemical labs of hospitals to decide the best vitals for home tests. I had a chance to speak with physicians and biochemists and discuss my project aim. After the design process, I did interviews and user testing with end-users for seamless user experience.
Inspiration
Blink is a smart monitoring device that shifts the experience of performing medical tests from long lines and long waits in hospitals to a simple and unobtrusive task undertaken in the comfort and convenience of home. In the current healthcare system, a great deal of time, energy and money is expended to receive detailed health information. Blink aims to change that.
Project Duration
The project started in February 2016 in Ankara and finished in June 2016, was exhibited in Science at Home Exhibition in Ankara and Turkey Design Week Exhibition in Istanbul.
Operation Flow
Through its straightforward, compact design, Blink measures blood pressure, body temperature and can be used to perform blood, urine and saliva tests. With the easy-to-use interface and the ability to set up profiles, multiple family members can use the same device. It is simple, userfriendly, multifunctional and hygienic.
