About Mountain House in Mist Bibliotek

Mountain House in Mist är ett bokhus på landsbygden beläget i en gammal by i Wuyi. Byggnaden förenar traditionell kultur med modern design genom en ny tillämpning av traditionella material, ett omgestaltat tak och genomskinliga polykarbonatskivor på fasaderna. Under dagen skapar skivorna en mjuk, genomskinlig atmosfär inomhus. På natten strömmar ljuset utåt och bokhuset blir ett visuellt centrum i byn. Bokhuset erbjuder en lugn plats för läsning och syftar till att locka unga människor och barn tillbaka till bergen.

Unique Properties: The Mountain House in Mist combines traditional culture and modern design through new application of traditional materials, transformation of the roof, and use of translucent polycarbonate board on the façade. In the daytime, light creates a translucent atmosphere indoor, while at night, the light sneaks out and the book house becomes a visual center.The book house was built to provide a space for to read and to calm down, so as to attract more young people and children back to the mountains.

Inspiration: The book house is located in an ancient village in Wuyi and was developed by a local tourism real estate company as a part of the development and construction. Before the development, only a few elderly residents live in this empty village. It was hoped that this book house could change the situation by bringing more visitors to it.
