- Unlike adults, newborns stomach is horizontal and relatively small in volume. As their not-fully-developed cardia can’t close properly, products of digestion, in the case of gastrointestinal peristalsis, tend to reflux from esophagus, leading to vomiting. Frequent vomiting is likely to cause such conditions as inflammations in intestines and stomach, and pneumonia.

- Babies, whose digestive system is not fully developed, tend to suffer from gastroesophageal reflux and vomit if lying down right after feeding. By elevating the cardia through the slope, the product prevents babies from vomiting, averting the risk of choking resulted from it.

According to how much babies vomit, the angle of slope can be adjusted by reducing or increasing the number of interior pads, so that babies can lie on their backs comfortably.
