About Car Box กล่องเก็บของท้ายรถ

Car Box คือกล่องเก็บของแบบพับได้ที่ออกแบบมาสำหรับพื้นที่ท้ายรถ รูปทรงสี่เหลี่ยมคางหมูถูกออกแบบให้สอดคล้องกับมุมประมาณ 80 องศาของพนักเบาะหลัง ทำให้กล่องสามารถแนบพอดีกับพื้นที่ท้ายรถและใช้ประโยชน์จากพื้นที่ว่างที่มักถูกปล่อยทิ้งไว้โดยไม่ได้ใช้งาน ฝาแบบพับลงยึดติดด้วยแม่เหล็กที่มีความแข็งแรงสูง ช่วยให้ผู้โดยสารที่นั่งด้านหลังสามารถหยิบของที่เก็บไว้ได้แม้ในขณะขับรถ ตัวกล่องผลิตจากโฟมโพลีโพรพิลีนขยายตัว (Expanded Polypropylene) ซึ่งเป็นพลาสติกโฟมน้ำหนักเบาที่ทนต่อแรงกระแทกและสามารถนำไปรีไซเคิลได้ ตัวล็อกแบบพับที่อยู่ทั้งสองด้านช่วยให้สามารถประกอบหรือพับเก็บกล่องได้ภายในเวลาเพียงห้าวินาทีโดยไม่ต้องใช้เครื่องมือใดๆ

Unique Properties: A title angle about 80° of the rear seats of SUV causes a waste of some space when the vehicle storage box for trunk is used. User’s experience may be compromised by tumbling box on bump roads, because the box cannot fit to the vehicle.
This trunk storage box is specially designed in a trapezoidal shape to fit the angle of rear seats and maximizes the use of space in trunk.
The box opened with magnetic and flip-down lid fits more car models and make it easier for rear seat occupants to access the desired articles while driving.

Production Technology: EPP, the abbreviated term of Expanded polypropylene, is a short name for new foamed plastic. The unique properties render it available as a fast-growing, eco-friendly new cushioning and insulation material that can be recycled and reused. It has been extensively used in car bumpers and bumper guard linings, as well as in a growing number of innovative products such as mother and baby products, safety seats, children's furnishings.
Design Challenge: We are motivated to identify the neglected zones, make these zones more user-friendly and serve the needs of car owners at different ages. This product is required to be light, portable and easily assembled with perceived safety. As a result, we should not follow the veins of traditional storage boxes to design this car product, and how to design against the specific needs of users and make them surprised is considered the biggest challenge.
Research: Chinese car buyers ranging from young to middle-aged and elderly consumers prefer SUV than sedans. We interviewed some car owners and found they chose to buy SUVs for larger space. Despite this, there is still inadequate effective space in car, even if you have sorted out items the box, after driving a while, you have to sort out items again. Understanding these pain points help us modify this work.
Inspiration: As a frequently used storage space, the vehicle storage box for trunk is often perceived not enough for use, a factor driving many consumers to prefer buying SUV. Traditional storage box cannot adapt to the owners’ needs in all aspects and disregard the influence of the interior space. We are inspired to make use of the neglected space and impact-resistant materials, delivering a better experience to user.
Project Duration: The project was conceived in Shanghai in June 2022

Operation Flow: Each side is designed with folding clasp, assembled and folded within five seconds without aid. Once folded, little space is occupied, the front lid is opened and closed with a strong magnet, and there is no lock catch. The simple design surprisingly provides a higher level of safety and even in case of danger, user will not be threatened by any impact.
