About Spike Lampara

Nagpe-play ang mga lampara ng spike na may mga kaibahan. Ito ay sumasalamin sa punk kultura, pa upang kalmado ang kalagayan ng Scandinavian. Ito ay isang maliliit na piraso, gayunpaman ang mainit na ilaw ay nakatuon sa isang maliit na pointy area sa ilalim ng piraso. Ang lampara ng Spike ay may isang agresibong hitsura dahil sa mga spike ng metal na tumuturo sa manonood. Sa parehong oras mayroong isang bagay na kalmado tungkol sa kinis ng ceramic na ibabaw at mainit na ilaw. Ang lampara ay lumilikha ng pag-igting sa isang interior. Tulad ng isang indibidwal mula sa isang subculture.

Ang Spike Lampara ay nagwagi ng A' Design Award na Bakal, isang prestihiyosong pagkilalang iginagawad sa mga mahuhusay na disenyong tumutugon sa mga propesyonal at pang-industriyang kinakailangang inaasahan sa mga mahusay na pagkakadisenyong likha. Ang mga nagwagi ng Bakal ay nagpapakita ng dakilang husay, mataas na espesyalisasyon, dalubhasang pag-unawa at kakayahang malikhain ng kanilang mga lumikha. Inaasahang ang Spike Lampara ay isang lubos na pinahahalagahan, hinahangaan at minamahal na likhang praktikal at makabago. Ang disenyong ito na nagwagi ng A' Design Award na Bakal ay nagsasama ng pinakamahuhusay na kasanayan ng industriya at may mahuhusay na katangiang teknikal na may kasamang kaalaman at talento. Ang Spike Lampara ay iginagalang dahil sa kaingatan nito at idinisenyo upang maghatid ng mga pagpapabuti sa kalidad ng buhay na tumutulong gawing mas mabuting lugar ang mundo.

Unique Properties: Spike lamp is studio made from ceramics and recycled metal. Spike plays with contrasts. It reflect to spiky fashion of punk culture yet to calm Scandinavian mood. It is a voluminous piece, yet the warm light is focused only into a small pointy area under the piece.
Dimensions & Packaging: The diameter of the ceramic part is 350 mm x 320 mm. With the spikes the diameter of the lamp is 450 mm x 370 mm.

Production Technology: The object is made in a two sided plaster mold. The outer surface of the ceramic object is spray glazed. The light is a dimmable LED.
Design Challenge: The challenge of the design was to create sophisticated piece with high quality materials, yet create a piece with a startling pulchritude.
Research: In the nature spikes are used to protect ones core, for example in the spiked plants and animals defend theirselves. The objective of the design was to simplify mathematical shapes of virus like forms into aesthetic outcome that has philosophical approach on social distancing.
Inspiration: The Spike lamp is inspired by social distancing and fashion subcultures. The core of the design is also mimicing the contrariety of nature, how simplicity becomes complexity.

The main materials used in the Spike lamp are mold made ceramic sphere and metal spikes. Both materials have shiny surface that reflect the environment of the object. The interior of the lamp is contrasting to the outer area, because it has a warm and smooth texture.
Project Duration: The project started in June 2019 in Helsinki and finished in May 2020.
Operation Flow: The Spike lamp has a aggressive appearance because of the metal spikes pointing towards the viewer. At the same time there is something calm about the smoothness of the ceramic surface and warm light. The lamp creates tension in a interior.
