About Be:side Kapehan at Kagandahan

Para sa bagong hamon ng Funabashiya na may mahabang kasaysayan mula noong 1805 bilang tindahan ng arrowroot mochi, ang mga disenyadur ay nag-isip na mahalaga ang pagbabalik sa kanilang sariling pinagmulan at pahalagahan ang kanilang mahabang kasaysayan, kaya, ipinatupad nila ang natatanging wisteria arbor ng kanilang pangunahing tindahan sa disenyo ng buong pasukan. Hindi lamang ang dinamikong disenyong ito ng pasukan ay nangingibabaw sa tahimik na lugar ng residensya sa Aoyama at nakakuha ng pansin ng mga tao, kundi ito rin ay gumaganap bilang upuang panlabas para sa kanilang mga kostumer.

Ang Be:side Kapehan at Kagandahan ay nagwagi ng A' Design Award na Bronse, isang lubhang prestihiyosong pagkilalang iginagawad sa mga natatanging disenyong nakikilala sa pagkamalikhain, katalinuhan at talas ng isip. Ang mga nagwagi ng Bronse ay mga likhang lubhang mahusay at kapansin-pansing malikhain na nagpapatunay sa malawak na karanasan, imahinasyon at pagkamaparaan ng kanilang mga tagapagdisenyo. Inaasahang ang Be:side Kapehan at Kagandahan ay isang lubos na pinahahalagahan, hinahangaan at minamahal na bagay na kapansin-pansing propesyonal at makabago. Ang disenyong ito na nagwagi ng A' Design Award na Bronse ay nagsasama ng pinakamahuhusay na kasanayan sa sining, agham, disenyo at teknolohiya, at mahusay dahil sa pansin nito sa detalye. Ang Be:side Kapehan at Kagandahan ay kahanga-hangang tumutugon sa mga pangangailangan, humahaplos sa mga hangarin, bumibighani sa damdamin at umaakit sa pag-uusisa.

Unique Properties: Funabashiya is an arrowroot mochi store with a long history since 1805, and this shop is their new conceptual shop focusing on health and beauty. The wisteria arbor at Funabashiya's flagship store became iconic to their customer.
For new challenge of our client Funabashiya which is with a long history since 1805 as arrowroot mochi store, the designers thought it is important to return to their own roots and cherish their long history. Therefore, they adopted the iconic wisteria arbor of Funabashiya's flagship store to the design of the whole entrance. Not only the dynamic design of the entrance stands out in the quiet residence area in Aoyama and caught people’s attentions, but it also functions as outside seating for their customers.

Production Technology: To emphasize the linear design, the dark grey tiles runs from the terrace to the end of the store, and it makes the store look deeper and the terrace roof inspired by the wisteria arbor more dynamic. The designers kept the interior minimum and simple to make their products stands out and carefully plan the lighting to make the space bright enough but not too plain and boring by creating contrast of light.
Inspiration: Inspiration came from the wisteria arbor at “Funabashiya” flagship store in Kameido. The wisteria arbor became iconic to their customer over the years of their history. For their new challenge, the designers thought it is important to return to their own roots and cherish their long history.
Project Duration: The project started in January 2020 and finished in July 2020 in Shibuya, Japan
