About Village Hall Pampublikong Gusaling Maraming-Gamit
Ang gusali ay sadyang umiiwas sa katutubong istilo ng arkitektura, at gumagamit ng modernong materyales at istruktura. Ang isang malaking lumulutang na bubong ay nag-uunipika sa mga pormal at impormal na espasyo sa isang simpleng paraan, tulad ng isang higanteng bukas na payong. Upang makamit ang pakiramdam ng paglutang at kagaan, ang malaking bubong na bakal ay hindi lamang kailangang malampasan ang malalaking cantilever at mga saklaw, kundi kailangan ding panatilihing manipis hangga't maaari ang mga bahagi. Sa pamamagitan ng ilang inobasyon sa istruktura, nabuo ang isang hybrid na istruktura na gumagaya sa mga cantilever ng payong.

- Unique Properties
- The building intentionally avoids the vernacular architectural style, and applies modern materials and structure. A big floating roof unifies the formal and informal spaces in a simple way, like a giant open umbrella.
In order to achieve the floating and light feeling, the big steel roof not only needs to overcome the large cantilevers and spans, but also needs to keep member as slender as possible. With several structural innovations, a hybrid structure mimics umbrella cantilevers are formed. - Dimensions & Packaging

A hybrid structure mimics umbrella cantilevers - Design Challenge
- In order to realise the sense of floating of the big black roof, the building is structurally innovative. The roof, as an overall stress system, not only has to overcome the difficulties of large overhangs and spans, but also has to make each rod as slim as possible to maximise the sense of lightness and composition of the rod structure.
- Research
- Based on the Grasshopper plugin extension tool on the Rhino platform, Karamba3D force analysis and form finding technology were used to explore the tools and paths suitable for architects to carry out structural form design in the scheme stage, and successfully completed the structural form design of asymmetric complex roof shapes.
- Inspiration
- In traditional Chinese housing, the main hall called ‘Ting Tang’ is the most important family space for public activities. It usually has a formal architectural gesture, with tall, dark and semi open space.
Inspired by this, the village center is considered as the ‘main hall’ for the whole village. Besides a multifunction hall for formal public activities, the building also provides lots of open spaces to encourage social interaction between villagers and tourists. - Project Duration
