About The Sea Vibes Instalasyon

Ang instalasyong ito ay dinisenyo gamit ang wika ng dagat: mga alon, sapagkat ito ay dinisenyo para sa isang proyektong pang-tahanan sa baybayin ng Dalian Bay, China. Ang instalasyon ay isang malaking silindro na binuo ng dobleng-layer na mga platang tanso, binubuo ng 6000 plato na nakabitin sa balangkas ayon sa tiyak na permutasyon. Kapag naglalakad sa paligid ng silindro, ang instalasyong ito ay tila mga alóng sumusunod-sunod. Kapag gumagalaw ang mga plato sa hangin ng dagat, kumikislap na liwanag at kulay ang sumasalamin, na sumasagisag sa alikabok ng alon. Ang disenyong ito ay muling lumikha ng pakiramdam ng mga alon ng dagat gamit ang isang nakatakdang instalasyon.

Ang The Sea Vibes Instalasyon ay nagwagi ng A' Design Award na Ginto, isang napakaprestihiyosong pagkilalang iginagawad sa mga disenyong pangunahing-uri, kahanga-hanga at namumukod-tangi. Ang mga nagwagi ng Ginto ay mga likhang lubhang makabago, may pananaw at nakasisilaw sa karilagan na sumasalamin sa talino, karunungan at husay ng kanilang mga tagapagdisenyo. Inaasahang ang The Sea Vibes Instalasyon ay isang lubos na pinupuri, nagtatakda-ng-uso at monumental na imbensyon na naghahatid ng walang kapantay na halaga. Ang disenyong ito na nagwagi ng A' Design Award na Ginto ay isang kahanga-hanga at iginagalang na proyekto na lubos na nakikinabang at nagpapaunlad sa mga hangganan ng sining, agham, disenyo at teknolohiya. Ang The Sea Vibes Instalasyon ay lumilikha ng matinding damdamin ng pagnanais, gumigising ng damdamin, nagpapasigla ng pagkamalikhain at nakahuhumaling sa atin.

Unique Properties: This installation was designed using the language of the sea: waves, as it was for a residential project built along the shore of Dalian Bay, China. The installation is a huge cylinder formed by double-layer copper plates. It consists of 6000 plates which were hung in the frame according to specific permutation. When you walk around the cylinder, it looks like waves running one after another. When the plates dance in the sea wind, flashing light and colors are reflected, just like spindrift.

Design Challenge: How to give the fixed installation a movement that resembles the endless waves of the sea was the biggest challenge. In the end the cylinder form with hanging cooper plates was the best sollution.
Research: As the residential project is built along the shore of Dalian Bay of China, the first thing capture our eyes is the specific feature of the project: the SEA. This inspires us to design an installation at the entrance using the language of the sea:waves, in order to echo the sea. As a matter as fact we further applied this language to the whole space of the demonstrate center, including: the logo, lamps and signage, making the space visually a whole.

Operation Flow: The cylinder formed by cooper plates creates a dynamic movement of the waves of the sea.
