About Otsuchi Настільний світильник

Otsuchi — це настільна лампа, виготовлена з оленячої шкіри, отриманої в місті Оцучі, префектура Івате, Японія. Місто постраждало від цунамі, спричиненого Великим східнояпонським землетрусом 2011 року. Згодом місцеві сільськогосподарські культури зазнали шкоди, оскільки кількість оленів зростала, а кількість мешканців зменшувалася. Місцеві мисливці започаткували бізнес із виробництва м'яса дичини, щоб використовувати оленів, на яких полюють як на шкідників. Лампа побудована на основі конструкції, надрукованої на 3D-принтері та вкритої оленячою шкірою, а її текстура нагадує форму живої тварини. Дизайн вшановує життя оленя та створює атмосферу спокою.

Unique Properties: This table lamp exists
in the space between design and art.
It resembles a light fixture, yet also conveys the vitality of an animal.
Its texture evokes the breath of a living deer.

Production Technology: Crafted from 3D printed structure coverd by deer leather.
Inspiration: The Table lamp is made from a deer leather captured in Otsuchi, Iwate, Japan. Otsuchi was destroyed by the devastating tsunami caused by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.
Our crop has been damaged due to a significant increase in number of deer, while the population of local residents declined. Local hunters started
the Gibier business to carry on the life of a deer that was hunted as vermin. This lamp was created in a hope to carry on deer's life and create a feeling of peace to the user.
Project Duration: The project started in Apr. 2023 in Otsuchi, Iwate and finished in Jan, and was exhibited in Salone del Mobile in June 2024.
Operation Flow: This table lamp conveys an organic, animalistic impression to people,
and also gives a wild impression.
This lamp, which makes you feel the vitality of a deer that once lived,
gives people the warmth of life.
