About Cadeira Asosiy funksiya: Stul

Kitob matni: Ushbu mebel buyumi oddiy stuldan ko'ra ko'proq narsa — u Braziliya va butun dunyodan yig'ilgan 34 xil yog'och turlarining namunalar to'plamidir; bu stulda qulay o'tirib, shu tabiiy resursning xilma-xilligi haqida bilim olish mumkin. Stulning o'zi dizaynerga so'nggi 35 yil davomida tez-tez berilgan savolga javob beradi: Bu qanday yog'och?

Production Technology
The chair is made in my woodworking shop, Alvaro Wolmer Movelaria Fina Ltda, by two fine woodworkers. They joined the shop 30 and 25 years ago. We use the basic machines to work with wood, plus a CNC router to engrave the woods' names. Each chair takes 140 hours of work to be completed.
Design Challenge
It is a very basic chair regarding the shape, and a very basic woodworking construction for a chair. The main purpose was to show the fine woods in their best and identify them.
Research
I have been collecting fine woods from Brazil and all over the world in the past 35 years. I always liked to mix different woods in my projects, mixing colors and textures. At a certain point I realized that, in general, people are not familiar with wooden names; that was the starting point to design a chair made of 34 wooden species and engrave their common and scientific names on each part of it.

Project Duration
The project started in January 2020 in Sao Paulo and ended also in Sao Paulo in October 2020.
Operation Flow
It's a confortable chair that same people just sit down and some people read the names and start a conversation about wood. It's very common also to see people recognizing a wood of a piece of furniture of their childhood; a wood that they didn't know its name, fond memories.
Patents
The design was registered in IAB - Instituto dos Arquitetos do Brasil.
