About The Board Ván trượt

The Board là một chiếc ván trượt có thể gập lại, được thiết kế để dễ dàng mang theo và cất giữ. Mặt ván được cấu tạo từ 57 bản lề xoay lồng ghép vào nhau. Bằng cách gập các bản lề theo hướng này hoặc hướng khác, hình dáng ván cruiser cổ điển được biến đổi thành một hình tròn hoàn hảo. Ở dạng hình tròn, The Board có thể bỏ vừa vào ba lô và có thể cất trong những không gian hẹp hoặc trưng bày như một vật trang trí trong nhà. Vật liệu chế tạo gồm nhôm, sắt và nhựa. Quá trình biến đổi hình dạng mang lại cho thiết kế một sức hấp dẫn thị giác rõ nét.

Unique Properties: The skateboard is limited by its appearance and it is inconvenient for users to carry.
The Board has a strong visual appeal of its transforming process. The structure makes it a completed circle which can be put in a backpack easily. Because of the circular appearance, it can be part of decorations at home or even place in the narrow space.

Design Challenge: Biggest challenges was manufacturing its complex dynamic structure and is considering open-sourcing the design as a DIY kit for 3D printers.
Research: Transformation is not just the change in appearance, but also the consideration of factors such as space, time, and circumstance to strengthen the purpose of transformation and the psychological level. In today’s product design, in order to make transformable products satisfy the users’ need, the designers usually introduce the transformable features to make them easy to carry and multifunctional simultaneously.
Inspiration: Most of the users have the stereotype in the usage of the products. If we get rid of the general form changing, there will be a different scenario for the users. The form changing process gives the users visual feeling and the intensity of it will be different depend on the various structures.
Project Duration: The design start in 2018 finish in 2019 July.
Operation Flow: The skateboard is made from 57 interlocking pivot hinges, by folding the hinges one direction or the other, transforming the classic cruiser shape into a perfect circle. Easy to fit in smaller places and even used for decoration.
