About Woman in Power Thiết Kế Trang Phục

Woman in Power là một bộ trang phục lễ hội carnival được tạo ra để thể hiện sức mạnh của người phụ nữ. Bộ trang phục tạo hình dạng chiếc quạt được điểm tô bằng lông vũ, mặc như một tuyên ngôn nổi bật. Sắc hồng và tím gợi nhắc đến những biểu tượng toàn cầu về nhận thức ung thư vú và bạo hành gia đình. Cấu trúc điêu khắc được tạo khung bằng dây kim loại và liên kết bằng một kỹ thuật đặc biệt, sau đó phủ lên bằng các loại vải như spandex và ren, hoàn thiện với kim sa cùng nhiều chi tiết trang trí khác. Woman in Power được làm thủ công hoàn toàn từ đầu như một sự tri ân dành cho những người sống sót.

Unique Properties: This design represents the designer's story, highlighting a woman's ability to take the pain and challenges and turn it into art to inspire other women. The piece is designed by a self-taught woman, who reflects the symbolism of women's power and strength.
Tags: Costume, Carnival, Cayman, Women Empowerment,
Production Technology: This design was handmade from scratch, using a combination of various fabrics such as spandex, lace, and other embellishments such as sequins. The foundation that created the sculpted piece is framed with metal wire and bonded using a special technique.
Design Challenge: The most challenging design element is the time and effort to sculpt the design with the metal wire. This took extensive time to carve, frame, and secure before the fabric base could be applied. But the hardest challenge was the mental aspect of converting a dark personal story into a design that is uplifting and vibrant design.
Research: Design by a self-taught designer from the Cayman Islands who utilizes visualization to map and conceptualize the design. This particular design stems from a personal story that is retold in a manner to represent all women. Additionally, there was research using a combination of internet search and discussions to find the best way to create a representation that could speak to the combination of domestic abuse and breast cancer
Inspiration: This design pays homage to women's battles, specifically those who are breast cancer survivors and abuse. The combination of colors is taken from the global representation of breast cancer and domestic abuse – pink and purple. The design creates a fan-like shape adorned with feathers to create a statement piece representing women's ability to stand strong, stand tall, and overcome the physical and emotional battles associated with breast cancer and domestic abuse.
Project Duration: The project started in July 2018 and was completed in Dec 2019 in the Cayman Islands
