About Mother Earth Bức ảnh

Mẹ Thiên Nhiên là một bức ảnh chân dung chụp tại studio, thể hiện hành tinh dưới hình dạng con người là một người phụ nữ đang trong tình trạng sức khỏe suy yếu. Lớp trang điểm sử dụng các tông màu xanh lá, xanh dương và nâu để tượng trưng cho đại dương, thực vật và đất đai. Những cánh hoa đang tàn úa được đặt trên đầu người mẫu nhằm gợi ý về bệnh tật. Biểu cảm của người mẫu truyền tải nỗi buồn và sự mong manh. Ánh sáng được tạo ra bằng một chiếc octabox lớn chiếu vào người mẫu và một đèn chiếu vào phông nền. Hình ảnh cuối cùng được hoàn thiện bằng phần mềm chỉnh sửa kỹ thuật số. Bức ảnh kết nối sự ô nhiễm với cảm xúc con người và thu hút sự chú ý đến vấn đề biến đổi khí hậu.

Unique Properties: The goal is to transfer earth pollution suffering into human emotion, to grab people attention to a raising problem of modern life style.

Production Technology: I sketched the idea for the makeup artist to understand the concept. The colors are representation of nature, and the dead flowers on the head of the model to show that she is dying. I asked the model to show vulnerability and sadness. I used one big octabox on the model and one light on the backdrop.
Design Challenge: The hardest part of this project was to find an African model. At the time of making this project, modeling agencies wast not common. So finding a model of a specific look was difficult.
Research: How earth would look like in a human form is the main is the core of this project. So, I mainly used google to view other artist approach of this concept, to get inspiration. The I did sketches of my own to show them to the makeup artist so she could understand my vision. I decided to hire an African model since Africa is the most connected with nature than others. I used dying petals as a representation of sickness. The green, blue and brown ware used as the colors of nature.
Inspiration: When I was a kid winter used to be colder and longer. Climate is actually changing due to global worming. Mother earth is dying and we are the ones responsible for that. So I though to represent planet earth as a sick woman waring nature, with makeup inspired by oceans, plants and soil. I choose an African model, as for me, Africa is the closest place on earth to pure nature.
Project Duration: The photograph took around 3 hours for the makeup and shooting in studio and 2 hours of retouching. It was shot in Kuwait 2015.
Operation Flow: Mother Earth photograph main perps is to engage with the viewers emotionally. So the best way to view this photograph is to look hard to the model's face and try to read her emotions.
