About Viewing Korean History Primary Function: Thiết Kế Bìa Sách Giáo Khoa

Book Text: Viewing Korean History là một loạt thiết kế bìa cho ba cuốn sách giáo khoa lịch sử. Những bìa sách được tạo ra dành cho học sinh trung học cơ sở và trung học phổ thông. Một hình đồ họa kim cương đơn giản cùng kiểu chữ ở trung tâm thể hiện tên môn học và giữ cho bản sắc của cả loạt sách được nhất quán. Hai cuốn sách trung học cơ sở dùng chung cùng một bố cục. Bìa sách trung học phổ thông thể hiện hình ảnh người học sinh hiện đại được kết nối với các thời đại khác nhau trong cùng một không gian. Các nhãn dán và lớp epoxy hòa hợp với màu nền, và lớp phủ chống trầy xước hạn chế sự hao mòn trong quá trình sử dụng.

Unique Properties: There are 3 history textbooks, while the concept cover images for middle and high school textbooks is meeting history. The simple diamond-shaped graphic and font in the center express the subject name, keeping the history textbooks’ identity consistent.

Production Technology: Various post-processing methods were used to maximize the implementation of the design concept. With the diamond shape at the center, stickers and epoxy were effectively used to match the background color and generate a premium look. No-scratch coating was used for finishing to minimize scratches and tears during use.
Design Challenge: Without images of historical artifacts on the cover, users are not easily reminded of the subject content. For this reason, many history textbooks have ended up with similar cover designs. The key task was to implement an idea that differed from the norm, and through much effort the History Viewed by Us concept was created. As a result, Visang history textbooks were able to differentiate themselves and gain much support from students.
Research: As many textbooks compete in the market in Korea, a differentiated cover design is a key element to win the competition. Concepts and images that cater to students, in addition to the unique identity strategy for history textbooks, allowed us to differentiate our product from others. More than anything, high user satisfaction is the value sought by Visang history textbooks.
Inspiration: Although history can be a difficult subject, it can be made more interesting for them if done right. The cover design expresses the perspective of viewing history to show that studying history can be made easier. For middle school, the two textbooks were configured with the same layout to depict the experience of feeling history in a relaxing way. The cover design of the high school textbook aims to deliver an image of the modern student being connected to different eras in the same space.
Project Duration: This project was started March 2019 and finished August 2019 in Seoul, Korea.
Operation Flow: The history textbooks provide not only information but also services for communication between students and teachers. Various apps and websites to help teachers teach and students learn enhance user convenience. The services reinforce the brand of Visang history textbooks through a consistent identity.
