About Artemis Clinics Health Tourism App
The design of the Artemis Clinics app streamlines the complex process of medical travel into a user friendly digital interface. Tailored for international patients seeking treatment in Turkey, the app integrates structured navigation, multilingual accessibility, and appointment scheduling into a cohesive system. Key design features include AI assisted chat, a customizable itinerary planner, and clearly organized medical service listings. The interface prioritizes clarity, responsiveness, and functional accessibility across all stages of treatment, from initial research to post operative care.
Kush Kaveh's Artemis Clinics Health Tourism App presents a compelling visualization of contemporary digital healthcare service design, positioning itself within the rapidly evolving intersection of medical tourism, mobile-first user experience design, and patient-centered care coordination that has emerged as a significant design challenge in the past decade. The interface architecture demonstrates sophisticated understanding of complex multi-stage user journeys, translating what traditionally required coordination across multiple service providers, communication channels, and information sources into an integrated digital experience accessible through a single unified platform. The compositional presentation through multiple device screens serves not merely as product showcase but as narrative device, visually articulating the comprehensive nature of the service by displaying simultaneous journey stages: initial search and provider discovery, appointment scheduling with provider selection, pre-arrival preparation including travel and accommodation coordination, and treatment day management including clinical documentation upload, collectively suggesting a service that accompanies users from initial consideration through post-treatment follow-up. The chromatic strategy deserves particular attention for its departure from conventional medical interface design, which historically defaulted to sterile blues or clinical whites; the selection of an energetic blue-violet as primary brand color, deployed across interactive elements and navigation structures, achieves the delicate balance of maintaining professional credibility appropriate to healthcare contexts while introducing warmth, contemporary appeal, and differentiation within a competitive marketplace, the soft lavender background fields preventing the violet from overwhelming while maintaining brand cohesion, the peachy-pink accents introducing further warmth suggesting care and human connection. Technical execution demonstrates professional-grade interface design craft: typographic hierarchy establishing clear information architecture essential for high-stakes healthcare decision-making, generous white space preventing cognitive overload despite information density, card-based organization allowing users to parse complex data in digestible units, systematic iconographic language providing intuitive categorical navigation without requiring literacy in multiple languages, and careful attention to interactive element sizing and spacing suggesting accessibility considerations and touch-target optimization. The integration of photography serves dual purposes, introducing visual interest and material texture while simultaneously communicating the physical reality and professional quality of healthcare environments users will encounter, the provider thumbnails humanizing clinical services, the clinic interior photography establishing environmental expectations, together grounding the digital experience in physical healthcare reality. Thematically, the work explores the democratization of specialized healthcare access through technology, addressing the significant barrier of coordination complexity that historically limited medical tourism to only the most resourceful patients, suggesting through its comprehensive journey mapping that quality healthcare across borders can be approachable, manageable, and transparent, the progress tracker particularly eloquent in its suggestion that complex processes can be broken into comprehensible steps. The interface invites consideration of how digital design can address real-world healthcare inequities, how thoughtful user experience can reduce anxiety in high-stakes medical contexts, and how technology platforms might serve not merely transactional functions but supportive, guiding roles in significant life decisions, prompting reflection on the expanding role of design in shaping access to essential human services.

- Production Technology
- Designed using a combination of UX research methodologies, Figma prototyping, and Adobe tools. AI features are powered through integrations with OpenAI API. The mobile-first interface was planned for both iOS and Android environments with accessible UI standards and localization in mind.
- Design Challenge
- The greatest challenge was translating a complex international medical journey into a user experience that feels calm, trusted, and intuitive. We tackled legal, cultural, and emotional barriers while balancing clarity and detail. Integrating AI in a human-centered way also required new UX thinking and careful language.
- Project Duration
- The project began in April 2024 in Izmir, Turkey and is currently under development. UX research and wireframing were completed in Q4 2024. The project is now being prototyped and integrated with AI and backend technologies for launch in Q3 2025.
- Operation Flow
- Users begin by searching for clinics or treatments via a smart filter interface. They explore verified providers, consult via chat or AI, and book appointments with guided steps. Artemis builds a dynamic itinerary, sends reminders, and allows direct communication, making the process simple and emotionally reassuring.
- Research
- Qualitative research focused on health tourism patients from Europe, North America, and Australia. Objectives included identifying pain points in clinic discovery and booking. Data collected via interviews, competitor analysis, and journey mapping. Insights revealed trust, timing, and clarity as critical. Result: a modular UX design supporting AI and guided steps, increasing patient confidence and conversion.
- Inspiration
- The inspiration behind Artemis came from observing the overwhelming and untrustworthy experience of health tourists navigating treatment abroad. Combining user empathy, UX research, and AI technology, Artemis was designed to become the smart, safe, and user-first companion for global patients seeking medical care abroad.
