About Chongwen Langyue Exhibition Center
The project is located at the city of Xian, China. The site is at an intersection of two major roads in the city. The unique shape is highly visible, which can better attract people and become a new benchmark in the block. The colorful dynamics of the interior will be highly visible from the city street and becomes a landmark for the project area. The unique appearance of the building brings the sense of a lively modern life style for the neighborhood. The aluminum panels and glass cladding which create a contrast between solid and transparent.
Emerging from contemporary explorations in architectural form-making that seek to transcend conventional orthogonal constraints, this exhibition center by Qun Wen represents a compelling synthesis of sculptural ambition and functional precision that has earned recognition through the A' Design Award. The structure engages with parametric design traditions while maintaining a distinctive visual vocabulary characterized by the dramatic interplay between sweeping curves and angular planes. The architect demonstrates remarkable sensitivity in orchestrating material transitions, allowing pristine white metal cladding to float above expansive glass surfaces that simultaneously reveal interior volumes and capture fleeting atmospheric reflections. Particularly accomplished is the integration of the reflecting pool, whose obsidian surface transforms the building's dynamic geometry into a meditation on architectural doubling, creating a dialogue between the material permanence of built form and the ephemeral fluidity of water and light. The compositional strategy reveals careful attention to approach and perception, positioning the structure to command attention through its ascending profiles while remaining anchored to the landscape through horizontal water and lawn elements. Thematic resonances emerge around notions of transparency and revelation appropriate to exhibition architecture, where the building envelope itself becomes a threshold experience mediating between exterior environment and interior discovery. The sweeping roof gesture may reference traditional architectural forms reinterpreted through contemporary technological and aesthetic frameworks, suggesting continuity with building traditions while asserting forward-looking formal innovation. Viewers are invited to contemplate how architecture shapes experiential anticipation, considering how the journey toward and around this structure prepares one for the encounters awaiting within its luminous interior volumes.

- The overall interior design adopts the design method of building and interior integration. The different geometric shapes inside the building, its materials and colors become part of the building’s façade display through the glass curtain wall. A large number of materials with metallic texture are used in the interior, such as aluminum plate and mirror stainless steel to create a fashionable and futuristic atmosphere. The interspersed geometry of large volumes makes the space more sculptural and interesting and stimulates the curiosity and desire to explore among people who are in it.

- The overall lighting design uses a large number of dyed lights combined with the characteristics of the building itself, through various reflections of metal light to create a dreamy scene.This project aims to provide more public activity space for local people to improve the quality of public life, lead people to yearn for the better life in the future and make positive contributions to the community.

- The project finished in 2022 in Xi'an
- Operation Flow
- Demonstration: Another architectural form is constructed through the interspersed between different blocks, making it revealing. The main entrance is shaped like a sail, implying smooth sailing.
- Research
- The outdoor landscape uses the same linear design language and combines the geometric landscape structures to make the whole building harmoniously integrate with the surrounding environment. Through the use of different geometric figures to separate the landscape to create a suitable landscape trail, increase the user's sense of experience and use water features and landscape structures to integrate architecture and nature to bring users a sense of nature.
- Inspiration
- Because the project is located on the east side of Zhengyang Avenue and is a key node at the intersection, we hope to be different from traditional sales office buildings, to create a vibrant urban public space and become a landmark building representing the future development of Jingyang than become a new way of life.
