About Digi Wallet Ring
The Digi Wallet ring explores the future of digital identity through contemporary jewelry design. As personal information increasingly becomes digital the ring offers a wearable alternative to traditional wallets. A discreet compartment for a removable chip is integrated within a circuit inspired lattice structure. By combining technology with refined jewelry craftsmanship the design provides a secure and elegant way to carry essential digital information in everyday life.
Sedra Mamou's Digi Wallet Ring represents a compelling contemporary contribution to the ongoing dialogue between jewelry design and architectural form, positioning this bold rectangular statement piece within traditions that stretch from Art Deco's geometric exuberance through mid-century modernist restraint to today's digitally-informed design vocabularies that celebrate structural clarity and material honesty. The work demonstrates sophisticated technical achievement in its evident precision fabrication, where parallel horizontal channels in what appears to be white gold or platinum create rhythmic linear patterns across the ring's substantial rectangular face, punctuated by a central square setting that houses a dark stone surrounded by smaller brilliant-cut accent stones, suggesting meticulous attention to both macro-sculptural presence and micro-detail execution. This compositional strategy of bold geometric outline containing finely articulated interior detail speaks to the contemporary jewelry maker's dual mandate of creating wearable sculpture that commands attention from distance while rewarding close examination with crafted intricacy. The chromatic restraint evident in the nearly monochromatic palette emphasizing cool metallic whites against warm skin tones demonstrates mature design confidence, allowing form and material to communicate without chromatic distraction, a choice that echoes minimalist design philosophy while maintaining luxury through evident material quality and workmanship rather than decorative excess. The rectangular silhouette itself invites consideration of how jewelry design increasingly draws inspiration from architectural and industrial design vocabularies, where the ring becomes a miniature built environment occupying the landscape of the hand, its horizontal linear elements suggesting fenestration patterns, structural ribbing, or circuit board layouts that acknowledge our technologically mediated material culture. The presentation choice of photographing the ring in situ upon an elegantly positioned hand rather than in isolated product documentation serves the conceptual aim of contextualizing designed objects within human scale and use, reminding viewers that jewelry functions as intimate architecture negotiating the boundary between body and world, personal identity and public presentation, sculptural autonomy and functional wearability. The scale relationships evident in the composition, where the ring occupies substantial finger real estate without overwhelming hand proportion, suggest thoughtful attention to ergonomic considerations and wearable comfort, balancing sculptural ambition with practical functionality. One might observe how the geometric precision of the ring's manufactured forms creates productive dialogue with the organic curves of fingers, hand, and shoulder visible in the composition, establishing a visual conversation between human biology and designed intervention, natural form and cultural artifact, that has animated jewelry design across millennia and finds renewed expression in contemporary practice. The work invites viewers to consider how personal adornment continues to evolve within our digital age, where jewelry design increasingly references technological aesthetics, architectural theory, and material innovation while maintaining connection to ancient human impulses toward beautification, status signaling, and the pleasure of carrying beautiful objects upon one's body through daily life. What possibilities emerge when jewelry design embraces bold geometric form and architectural presence while remaining fundamentally wearable, intimate, and responsive to human scale and movement?

- Unique Properties
- Technology is evolving toward fully digital identities, where personal information such as medical records and banking data may be securely stored on chips, reducing the need to carry physical wallets or documents. The Digi Wallet ring transforms this concept into a wearable object through a circuit-inspired lattice structure with a discreet compartment for a removable chip. Compatible with current banking chips and adaptable to future technologies, the design offers a practical and secure solution for everyday digital access.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- The ring is designed in 18K white gold with diamond details. The structure integrates a removable chip compartment within a mechanical top section. The upper module measures approximately 28 mm in width and 15 mm in height, with an internal chip slot of about 8 mm. The ring base measures about 20 mm with a lower structure width of 12 mm and an approximate side thickness of 10 mm, ensuring structural stability and wearable comfort.

- Production Technology
- The ring was designed using 3D CAD jewelry design software with a lattice structure inspired by electronic circuits. The piece is crafted in white gold and set with white and black diamonds, combining precious materials with a contemporary aesthetic. The design integrates a dedicated compartment for a removable chip module, allowing interaction with digital identity or banking technologies while maintaining a refined jewelry form.
- Design Challenge
- One of the main challenges was integrating digital technology into a small jewelry object while maintaining elegance and comfort. The design required balancing technological functionality with aesthetic value. Creating a secure compartment for a removable chip without compromising the rings proportions and wearability was a key challenge during the design process.
- Project Duration
- The project started in December 2022 in Istanbul and was completed in September 2023 in Istanbul
- Operation Flow
- The ring functions as a wearable digital interface. A removable chip module is securely placed inside the dedicated compartment of the ring. The user can insert or replace the chip depending on the required service such as digital identity or banking access. The design allows everyday wear while seamlessly integrating technology into a refined jewelry object.
- Research
- The project explores the future of wearable technology and digital identity. As society moves toward fully digital systems there is a growing need for secure and convenient ways to carry personal data. In many situations such as social events or outings people especially women may prefer not to carry a wallet or cards. This ring offers an elegant solution by integrating a removable chip inside a refined jewelry structure allowing essential data to be carried discreetly
- Inspiration
- The inspiration came from reading about subdermal chip implantation intended to simplify everyday life. This raised a question: why should people undergo invasive procedures to access digital convenience? Instead of embedding technology under the skin, the idea was to create a wearable alternative that offers the same benefits without medical intervention. The ring became a symbolic and practical solution, transforming advanced technology into a safe, elegant, and accessible form.
