About Light Shadow Bamboo Weave Communal Space Chair
Light Shadow Bamboo Weave is a communal space chair made for public places. The circular seat combines a welded steel frame with hand woven bamboo strips. Bamboo was selected for its toughness, corrosion resistance and plasticity, and the weaving follows traditional Chinese methods. A light inside the seat is switched on by hand, and the light passes through the bamboo to create shadow patterns. A planted area on the top holds green plants that help clean the air. The chair measures 1250 by 1250 by 1900 millimetres.

- zhengzhou university of light industry, date: November 10, 2019 -December 10, 2019
- Operation Flow
- The design is a public seat with light, which needs to be manually turned on. The light passes through the bamboo to present a light and shadow effect.
- Research
- We studied bamboo weaving texture patterns, Chinese bamboo weaving methods, and studied the steel frame of public seats.
- Inspiration
- China's intangible bamboo weaving culture is broad and profound, and there are various ways of bamboo weaving. I want to apply Chinese traditional bamboo weaving culture to public places. The appearance of this seat comes from China's copper hot pot. The purpose of this design is to establish a platform for strangers to rest and communicate in public places through a round public space chair. The green plants on the top can purify the air and make people feel happy.
