About Porochista Piano
The Porochista piano is a blend of advanced technology and modern design. Featuring a large Oled screen for displaying notes and dynamic capabilities, it offers a distinctive playing experience. The matte black color combined with bronze accents gives the piano a refined beauty that caters to modern and diverse tastes. Its design enhances the visual appeal of any space and, with its modern technologies, provides a new level of performance and functionality for both professional musicians and music enthusiasts.
Within the contemporary landscape of musical instrument innovation, this remarkable reimagining of the grand piano represents a significant synthesis of acoustic tradition and digital capability, demonstrating how thoughtful design evolution can honor heritage while embracing technological advancement. The work, recognized with prestigious design accolades, appears to engage with broader movements in luxury product design where sculptural form language typically associated with automotive or aerospace industries finds meaningful application in domestic and performance contexts. The designer seems to have approached the challenge of modernizing an iconic instrument typology with considerable sensitivity, maintaining the essential gesture of the traditional grand piano silhouette while radically reconceiving surface treatment, material expression, and technological integration. Particularly noteworthy is the sophisticated handling of the transition zones where different functional areas meet, the seamless flow from keyboard housing through body to tail achieved through careful surface development that suggests advanced manufacturing processes such as composite molding or precision metalwork. The chromatic strategy demonstrates refined restraint, allowing the dominant achromatic palette to establish visual authority while strategic metallic accents in warm rose gold create focal hierarchy and suggest premium positioning. The integration of the digital control interface above the keyboard represents a thoughtful solution to the challenge of incorporating contemporary technology without compromising the instrument's sculptural integrity, the recessed panel maintaining surface continuity while providing necessary functionality. The transparent lid material introduces an element of visual permeability that lightens the overall mass while creating intriguing optical effects as interior components become partially visible. One might observe how this design philosophy extends to the accompanying bench, which employs consistent formal vocabulary to create a unified ensemble rather than treating seating as an afterthought. Viewers are invited to consider how such design innovation might transform the experience of musical performance and domestic presence of instruments traditionally bound by centuries of formal convention.

- Production Technology
- According to the curved forms used in the production of Prochista, like the production of a car body, it will require steps such as CNC in different parts, molding and casting.
- Design Challenge
- The challenge in designing this piano was to achieve a dynamic form with a sense of suspension at the rear end, while ensuring good stability. Preserving the overall authenticity of the piano's form in a way that, at first glance, resonates with acoustic piano players and enthusiasts, was another significant design challenge. Additionally, designing details that would still appear distinctive when ordered in different colors, while maintaining simplicity, was crucial

- Operation Flow
- Prochista has common details with other pianos and it shouldn't be otherwise, but the points that distinguish it are having a large and touch monitor to provide better conditions for the piano player by displaying music notes in an animated form. In addition, the hidden compartment on its upper part allows you to place a notebook on it and just touch a corner of it to come out and lean the book on it.
- Research
- During my interior design work, I consistently faced the challenge of not finding unique modern pianos on the market. Available pianos were predominantly classical or, due to unconventional forms, no longer resembled traditional pianos. This led me to design a piano that would capture the attention of interior designers and modern enthusiasts alike, offering a suitable option based on the elements present in their homes or desired spaces. Even during the three-dimensional modeling process, I focused on integrating its internal mechanisms for better cohesion.
- Inspiration
- Porochista's design is inspired by super sports cars with curved and dynamic forms in such a way that the general appearance and form of classical acoustic pianos is preserved and as if it has reached this form over time. The combination of glass, metal and its main body with matte black color will be compatible with any arrangement and those interested in modern and contemporary style can have a different experience of the design of an acoustic piano.

Grand Interview about Porochista Piano
The inclusion of this large display was intended to allow the pianist to perform many tasks directly on it. For example, it can display sheet music while playing, which can be challenging for amateur players who otherwise need to turn pages. With this screen, the pianist can maintain full focus on playing, keeping their hands and feet free to follow the notes without interruption.Another feature is designed for composers, allowing them to save the notes they play using appropriate piano software. This eliminates the need to write music on paper, as the performance is recorded automatically. The pianist can hear their composition immediately, either through built-in speakers, headphones, or via a mechanism where the piano itself plays the notes.Additional digital features have been incorporated so that the piano can operate silently, like a digital piano, allowing practice via headphones without disturbing others. All of these functions are conveniently controlled through the display.
If we look at today’s super sports cars, we notice their remarkable cohesion and seamless design—something that was not possible in the past due to manufacturing limitations. Over time, curved and complex forms have become increasingly prevalent in the automotive industry. In classical pianos, the focus has traditionally been on sound quality rather than external form. However, examining this in the context of automotive art, we see that cars like Rolls-Royce, which represent the highest standards of quality, have deliberately moved away from traditional shapes toward more intricate and dynamic forms. This approach has resulted in avant-garde creations that clearly reflect the passage of time, modernity, and innovation—qualities that are less commonly experienced in today’s acoustic pianos.Curves, seamlessness, material combinations, and forms were all elements inspired by automotive design that influenced the architectural approach of the Porochista Piano.
Since black is one of the most prominent representatives of the classical category, it can also be the ideal choice for an acoustic piano. Combining it with metal, particularly bronze, creates a unique aesthetic and gives the instrument a distinctive presence and a sense of authenticity.
ost acoustic pianos available in the market are presented with a classical appearance and do not harmonize well with modern styles. Therefore, they are usually better suited for homes with classic or neo-classic interiors. When an acoustic piano is placed in a contemporary or modern space, its traditional legs or forms can make it feel somewhat out of place.Since my field of work is interior architecture, this has always raised a question in my mind: can I find a modern acoustic piano suitable for my clients’ projects? This concern led me to include a piano in my collection of designs, and I believe the Porochista Piano can have a fitting presence in many modern spaces.
minimalism. Any added element can create clutter or disorder. For example, the sheet music holder itself is already an element on the piano, and when the music book is placed on it, adding another component could disrupt the balance—pages might warp or remain open, affecting the overall appearance of the piano. However, the monitor on the Porochista Piano eliminates this disorder, allowing the pianist to follow the notes easily and continue playing uninterrupted. Of course, if someone prefers to play from a traditional music book, that is fully respected and they can use the holder. In the end, when the music holder is returned to its compartment, it restores order and gives the Porochista Piano a more consistent and refined appearance.
As you can see in the piano’s design, it features an extended base that reaches to the middle of the instrument and connects to the “floating” section through a curved form resembling a boomerang. This curve was conceived to function similarly to the supports used in pergolas—or, more accurately, like the braces that hold up balconies or amphitheaters—providing enhanced stability.Additionally, the front section of the piano is designed to be wider, creating a proper balance with the floating part. In effect, the weight of the front section supports the suspended portion, maintaining equilibrium much like traditional scales, ensuring the piano remains stable while achieving this striking visual effect.
As I mentioned earlier, authenticity can evolve, just as we see with Rolls-Royce or Porsche. A professional pianist using an acoustic piano is like a Formula 1 driver, and their skill is such that if they were to use a digital piano, it would be like giving a Formula 1 driver a basic car for a race. Therefore, it’s important to allow people the choice—they may prefer a piano with a different appearance while still being acoustic. Over time, authenticity can develop alongside technology and modernity, giving rise to new forms.
Honestly, I don’t have a precise vision, but in any case, there are many awards across various categories, and they may not always be widely noticed. However, my hope is that, in the best scenario, a reputable company would produce this piano and create meaningful innovations. At the very least, young designers could see it, draw inspiration, and create far more refined and advanced designs.
Apart from this, it would not be possible. The forms have a specific complexity that can only be achieved through precise mold-making.
In a simple example, a clarinet, saxophone, or trumpet player can, during the learning process, drive all the neighbors in the building crazy. Digital capabilities make it possible for the musician to practice while preserving the sound as close as possible to the acoustic instrument, using headphones. Moreover, tasks like turning sheet music while playing or writing notes during composition can be much easier with this approach. Even on this scale, the Porochista Piano has been designed so that applying sound effects while using its digital features can enhance the musician’s enjoyment. It’s similar to a professional tennis player who occasionally enjoys ping pong or padel—this combination can increase both skill and pleasure.
