About TECO Endorser Advertisement
TECO Endorser is an advertising campaign created for a Taiwanese home appliance brand. The campaign features the baseball player Chen Chieh-hsien, known as Captain Taiwan, as the brand ambassador. High-end commercial photography combines sports lighting with home appliance aesthetics. Deliverables include two television commercials, four short videos for social media and more than 500 high-resolution master images, adapted for print and digital formats. The aim is to connect the brand heritage with younger audiences.
This advertisement positions itself within the sophisticated visual language of contemporary lifestyle marketing, where product endorsement transcends simple demonstration to construct aspirational domestic narratives that invite viewer identification and desire through environmental storytelling and human presence. The compositional achievement lies in its deft balance between commercial clarity and aesthetic refinement, foregrounding the appliance through strategic placement, tonal contrast, and spatial hierarchy while embedding it within a carefully curated domestic environment that suggests taste, comfort, and contemporary sensibility. The chromatic palette demonstrates notable restraint and sophistication, building harmony through warm wood tones, earth-derived neutrals, and carefully desaturated accent colors that create visual cohesion while allowing the brushed metal appliance to function as chromatic punctuation, its cool industrial finish providing necessary contrast against organic warmth. The architectural backdrop of vertical wood slats introduces strong geometric rhythm and textural interest, its parallel linear grammar establishing visual order while the horizontal shelving and curated objects provide perpendicular counterpoint, this interplay of vertical and horizontal creating stable compositional scaffolding. The styling choices reward close observation: woven baskets suggesting artisanal quality and sustainable materials, ceramic vessels in muted tones reinforcing the earth-palette, trailing greenery introducing organic life and biophilic design principles, and translucent drapery filtering natural light to create luminous atmospheric quality. The human figure serves multiple rhetorical functions: providing scale reference that allows viewers to assess appliance proportions, introducing relatable presence that transforms product documentation into lifestyle narrative, and embodying confident ease through relaxed posture and casual attire that suggests the appliance integrates seamlessly into desirable daily rhythms. The lighting strategy appears deliberately naturalistic, eschewing dramatic contrast for even, flattering illumination that reads as domestic reality rather than studio artifice, this choice reinforcing the advertisement's implicit promise that the product belongs within real lived environments. The spatial construction maintains clarity without excessive depth, establishing sufficient recession to create dimensional interest while keeping all elements legible and compositionally integrated, the shallow space preventing distraction while focusing attention on the product-environment-endorser constellation. The work seemingly engages commercial photography traditions extending from mid-century advertising's integration of products into lifestyle tableaux through contemporary brand storytelling that positions objects within aspirational yet achievable domestic ecologies. One might observe how the composition negotiates the tension inherent in product advertising between showcasing the commercial object and constructing desirable context, here resolved through balanced integration where appliance and environment reciprocally validate each other. The advertisement invites viewers to consider how domestic appliances participate in broader lifestyle aesthetics, how functional objects become expressions of taste and values, and how the ordinary rituals of household maintenance might be reimagined through design-conscious acquisition, prompting reflection on the relationship between material possessions and aspirational self-conception.

- Production Technology
- They utilized brand archetyping and semiotic analysis to decode Teco’s legacy and Chen's Captain Taiwan persona. The creative methodology centered on cultural anchoring, transforming abstract national resilience into a concrete visual rhetoric. Their key visual synthesis involved high-end commercial photography, integrating dynamic sports lighting with sleek home appliance aesthetics. This overarching narrative was systematically adapted into an omnichannel matrix.
- Design Challenge
- The core challenge was uniting two demographics: Teco’s traditional 35 to 60 family base and a 28 to 34 trend-conscious generation. Internally, we had to overcome the brand's aging historical perception. Externally, we leveraged Captain Taiwan Chen Chieh-hsien's immense social influence. The obstacle was translating his Taiwan Value—resilience and national unity—into a cohesive narrative that modernizes Teco’s image without alienating its loyal users, merging legacy with modern appeal.
- Project Duration
- The project started in February 2025 and finished in January 2026 in Taiwan.
- Operation Flow
- They executed a three-tier omni-channel strategy. Air operations used TVCs and social platforms to capture the younger, trend-focused demographic. Ground operations revitalized physical retail with immersive in-store materials, directly interacting with traditional family buyers. This culminated in a major ambassador event uniting dealers and VIPs. This seamless online-to-offline loop transforms passive viewing into active engagement, maximizing cross-generational market penetration.
- Research
- Qualitative trend analysis via social listening was utilized to modernize Teco. Results showed Taiwan's historic Premier12 victory made MVP Captain Chen a symbol of resilience. The key insight revealed his "Taiwan Value" perfectly aligns with Teco. Ultimately, this endorsement bridged generational gaps, rejuvenated Teco's legacy image, and set a new standard for sports marketing.
- Inspiration
- The inspiration stems from Taiwan’s profound cultural unity during national baseball tournaments. Our research indicated that modernizing a legacy brand like Teco required emotional resonance, not just technical promotion. We sought a figure embodying resilience and leadership. Motivated by this, we selected Captain Taiwan, Chen Chieh-hsien. His unwavering dedication perfectly mirrors Teco’s heritage of durable engineering and its enduring status as the domestic market leader.
