About Zoomo Cargo Ebike
Zoomo Cargo is an electric cargo bike designed to carry one adult and up to two children. The frame is made of aluminium and carbon, and the complete bike weighs 30 kilograms. Lights and a display are integrated into the vehicle. A tilting device is placed under the cargo box, so the rider can lean into corners in the same way as on a standard bicycle. The tilting system makes the bike easy to ride and safe to control. The appearance refers to classic cargo bikes, combined with modern materials and riding features.
Within the evolving discourse of sustainable urban mobility, Brian Kenneth Høhl's Zoomo Cargo Ebike emerges as a thoughtful response to the growing demand for efficient, environmentally conscious last-mile delivery solutions that serve the complex logistical needs of contemporary commerce. The design demonstrates a refined understanding of cargo tricycle conventions while introducing distinctive formal innovations, particularly in the bold angular frame geometry that establishes immediate visual recognition and brand differentiation within an increasingly crowded market segment. The chromatic decision to employ high-visibility yellow suggests deliberate consideration of urban safety requirements while simultaneously creating a cheerful, approachable presence that softens the industrial utility of the cargo function. Technical accomplishments include the integration of a clean belt drive system that promises reduced maintenance requirements compared to traditional chain mechanisms, disc brake technology ensuring reliable stopping power under loaded conditions, and a clearly considered cargo volume that balances capacity with maneuverability. The enclosed cargo box design protects contents from weather and opportunistic theft while its clean geometric form contributes to the overall visual coherence of the vehicle. The rider interface, positioned at the rear, follows established cargo tricycle conventions while incorporating contemporary ergonomic considerations in saddle design and handlebar positioning. The five-spoke wheel design introduces a note of contemporary dynamism that elevates the vehicle beyond purely utilitarian appearance, suggesting that functional objects need not sacrifice aesthetic consideration. The work invites contemplation of how thoughtful design can address pressing environmental and logistical challenges while contributing to the visual character of urban environments through objects that perform essential services with visual grace.

- Unique Properties
- This is a very modern electric cargo bike dressed in an iconic appearance. The electric cargo bike is made out of alloy and carbon. There is build in lights on this new iconic vehicle. The vehicle can carry up to two children. There is a tilting device underneath the cargo box that makes the bicycle extremely easy to drive. Just lean into the corners as on a normal bicycle. This makes the bicycle not only easy to drive but also very safe to drive.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- Length 170 x Width 110 x Hight 120 - Weight 30 kg
- Tags
- electricbike, bike, bike, cargobike
- Production Technology
- Alluminium and Carbon materials are used
- Design Challenge
- The most critical challenge was to get the weight down to a record breaking level. The electric bicycle has a race bike dna and must therefor be light. But having the added weight of a battery and a motor was the most difficult challenge. The way we have solved the challenges is by using untraditional materials for an electric bike such as carbon and kevlar instead of metal and alloy
- Project Duration
- 12 month from first sketch to final vehicle 12 month from first sketch to final product. Made and developed in Croatia. Alluminium and Carbon materials are used in order to create this electric bike. We started sketching the bikes and chose the current design out of 50 sketched bikes. After the choise we went into the 3D phase and then finally the prototyping phase.
- Operation Flow
- The design is developed based on insights collected from 500 end consumers
- Research
- We have done research in aerodynamics, weight ratio to stiffness of the frames. This is a totally new method in the electric bicycles industry where those parameters mentioned has not been explored before now with our new Maserati bicycle product.Protanium/Asia Kingston has the licence rights to use the Maserati brand for electric bicycles.
- Inspiration
- We are inspired of the old classical cargo bikes like the Christiania bike from Copenhagen. However we gave the classical cargo bike a modern twist by adding new materials and new driving features. Integrated lights and integrated display. The driving experience is like driving a normal bicycles because of a well designed steering mechanism that allows the driver to lean into corners. Exactly like you do on a regular bike. The bike fit one adult and two kids.
