About Capsule Ẹ̀rọ Ìdarí Tẹlifíṣànì

Capsule jẹ́ ẹ̀rọ ìdarí tẹlifíṣànì tí a ṣe fún àwọn pátákò ìṣàn (streaming platforms). Ìṣètò rẹ̀ dín ìdíwọ́ èrò kù nípa pínpín àwọn bọ́tìnnì sí ẹgbẹ́ méjì. Ẹgbẹ́ kan ní àwọn iṣẹ́ tí a máa ń lò kí a tó bẹ̀rẹ̀ àkọlé kan, ẹgbẹ́ kejì sì ní àwọn iṣẹ́ tí a máa ń lò lẹ́yìn tí a bá ti bẹ̀rẹ̀ àkọlé náà. Títẹ̀wé (typing) ṣì jẹ́ ọ̀nà tí ó gbajúmọ̀ jùlọ láti fi ń tẹ àwọn ọ̀rọ̀ sínú àwọn iṣẹ́ ìṣàn lórí tẹlifíṣànì. Unique Properties: Capsule significantly decreases the cognitive load while using the remote. Buttons are divided into two sets according to their usage. One set for functions that are used before starting a title and the other, after starting a title.

While voice command is a technology that is developing, typing still remains the preferred input method for OTT on TV. A user centric approach was taken and the experience of typing was improved upon. When an On-Screen keyboard appears, the Capsule remote can be held horizontally and the configuration of the buttons will change. Just as the user would type with one set of navigational buttons, the user can now type with two sets of navigational buttons, each with its own cursor.

For future innovation, voice command and mic are also included.

Inspiration: The objective with Capsule was to reimagine the TV remote focussed on streaming. The task was to make the remote as simple as possible by stripping down the cognitive burdens that come with the current designs and layouts.

A user centric approach was taken while designing the Capsule. The remote is as thick as it needs to be to perfectly fit any hand. It focuses on improving typing, which remains the most popular input method for OTT, while also including voice command and a touch pad for further development.
