About Evolution

Behind the Design

Credits, team members and technical details provided by the designer.

Unique Properties: The design language of the sculpture is peaceful, with both the simplicity of the straight line and the unique softness and movement of the curve itself. It represents the dynamic and continuous nature of the thinking, contains everything, and has no boundary between space and time, just like the universe; The line does not fill the whole surface, and the space left in the middle is like a door left behind. The door is also not round, and there are increases and decreases, creating evolution
Dimensions & Packaging: Length 15m, width 4m, height 7.8m
Tags: Public art, sculpture, natural space, door
Production Technology: Steel forging
Design Challenge: The huge volume makes the connection between steels more difficult and important
Research: Refer to Brian Green, a famous theoretical physicist and superstring theorist in the United States, a love letter to the universe and mankind, "Till the End of Time". In the book, he uses the poetic language integrating science and art to trace back all the way through time, explaining how the universe, life and consciousness are born in the intertwined process of evolution and entropy, and witnessing the magnificent products that human mind brings to the universe and itself. Perhaps in the universe, there really is such a "door of evolution" in the mind.
Inspiration: There is a process of inverse entropy and entropy increase in the evolution of everything in the universe. The evolution of everything in the universe is carried out around the main line of information. It is itself an information technology system, a large computing and manufacturing system. It is like a door that exists in human thinking, through which you can get the only insight and the only important answer related to life.
Project Duration: Works completed in November 2022
Operation Flow: Sculpture is the location of the scene, is a popular object for photographers and tourists
