I was born in 1993 in Taipei, Taiwan, came to New Zealand in 2008, at the time i enjoyed sculpturing a lot during the time and decided to study Architecture in the Victoria University of Wellington. I had been always interesting in making things physically by my own hand and skill, and perhaps one day I can design a house for the people I love and care one day in future.
The furniture piece was designed and specified as part of the SARC 212/312 Furniture Design Course at the School of Architecture, Victoria University of Wellington. The course is coordinated by Lecturer Natasha Perkins and took place over the Summer Trimester with Metal Art Ltd. as a sponsor client. The design was further developed as part of an internship with Con-Di Interior Corporation in Taiwan, resulting in a prototype which takes into account costing and production methods.
Metric-Ganic was presented in the ‘Make It’ exhibition, held at the Faculty of Architecture and Design in February 2014, new Zealand. Not sure what, when and where I will make my next creations, but one day I would love to have my own exhibition held in Milan.
I currently live in New Zealand where there are cultural influence such as Maori Culture, it applies on art, architecture, language and livings. Great experiences.
