Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

Japan is a country with many earthquakes.The design has been despised to increase the earthquake resistance of the building.I started designing houses because I wanted to make beautiful cityscapes.

Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

My design studio mainly designs houses and buildings in Tokyo,Japan.

When do you feel the most creative?

When I stand at the planned place and imagine the design in my head, I feel creativity.

Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

What I aspects most in design is the relationship between inside and outside of the building.

What makes a design successful?

To succeed in design, to understand the characteristics of the town, the environment of the land, the client's request in detail.

From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

In Japan, the time from building completion to destruction is very short. It will be about 35 years. I am hoping that the building I designed will remain for a long time. I think that it contributes to the environment and society.

How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

I feel that the design of the world is becoming centralization. However, I feel that Japan has many original designs. I am pleased that Japan's unique sensibility will be disseminated to the world.

Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

I live in Tokyo, Japan. My design is strongly influenced by the climate of Japan.

Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?

What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?

It is the design of the house. Because the project 's demands are different each time.
