Mr. Marco Vinicio Garrido-Félix holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and a Master’s Degree in Arts with a specialty in Diffusion. He began working at Universidad de Monterrey in 2000 as Assistant Professor of the Art, Architecture and Design Department, teaching theoretical and practical subjects in the Graphic Design Undergraduate Degree. In 2007, he was promoted to the Graphic Design Academic Program Director’s Office and of the Textile and Fashion Design Academic Program. In 2008 and 2009 he was invited as Advisor to the second and third exhibits of “The Project Communication for Social Innovation” international design event, and in 2010 he was a member of the jury in the fourth exhibit of the same event, held in Milan, Italy. In February 2011, he was voted in as representative of the Northern-Northeastern region, a commission belonging to the Mexican Association of Design Schools. In 2011 and 2013 he was invited as Director of UDEM’s Design Department, which is in charge of leading and assuring the quality and efficiency of the teaching, research and extension activities in one or several specific fields of knowledge. Since 2011 he is a member of the Technical Board of Review General Assessment Degrees in Mexico, which is in charge of the technical review of the areas of test in Graphic Design (CENEVAL). Since 2011 he is a member of International Council of Communication Design (ICOD) and panelists for Icograda Educational Platform. He has taught and advised graphic, textile, product design and reserch projects winning national and intermational competitions. During 2014 He founded and directed the UDEM Center New York, a space for reserch and creation in design.
