Interview with Sanna Paakki

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
I really have always wanted to be a designer. There have been times when I was younger that I did not believe in my dreams. That's why I graduated to a visual arts teacher at first. I feel that I have an great imagination and I have got unique ideas. I would love to invent new products all the time. My mind is very visual. It's easy to see products as ready in my mind before they really get ready.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
My Company is quite fresh Company, it is only two years old. Despite the fact that my Company is so young, we have very wide selection of different design products. I believe that one of our strength is that I have ability to use very different materials. We use in our products among other thing elk leather, felted wool, tanned leather and birch plywood.
What is "design" for you?
I think that you can recognize real design, when there is anything disruptive in the product. All features fit together.
What kinds of works do you like designing most?
I like to design most leather products. Elk leather is my favourite material. I like to combine different natural materials to high quality leather. I love to design inventive products.
