Interview with Atelier Varadinum

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
I always liked drawing and math and I thought architecture faculty would be a good choice. It seems it was not, so after five years of study I went back to what I liked from the very beginning: drawing and technical drawing. Design practice seems to be facilitated by them.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
We are a young team that puts passion in what it does ... and it seems that the results begin to be noticed.
What is "design" for you?
Design often resembles solving a math problem with another method. Is like finding the answer to a riddle.
What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
I have always appreciated the geodesic domes of Buckminster Fuller. I believe that the possibilities offered by them can be explored more.
When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
I wonder if I could have done it better... or at least if I could have done it that way.
How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
Technology is moving faster, design algorithms have begun to appear. I do not know what the future of the design is, but I know that in the case of regular polyhedrons there will be no surprise.
Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
Inspiration comes from the people around. We feed creativity with a lot of geometry ... many squares and triangles.
