What is "design" for you?
For me, the creative path in interior design is the essence of today's existence. Over a long period of work in this industry, I have found for myself the path to a new technological renaissance in the interior design of today and tomorrow.
What kinds of works do you like designing most?
Most of all I like to design super-technological interiors where a mixture of New Deco style is intertwined with the super-technological Lux-style.
What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
My favorite design is the interior of a Lufthansa Technik aircraft in collaboration with the design bureau MERCEDES-BENZ presented at the European Business Aviation Convention 2015 (EBACE 2015) exhibition and is planned for introduction into production and operation in short- and long-haul VIP and VVIP class aircraft.
What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
I am interested in 3D printing technologies for manufacturing surfaces from Kevlar mesh
When do you feel the most creative?
I'm feeling creative When I work in virtual space and create new forms
What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
I experience a feeling of great concentration when in virtual space I travel through a newly simulated residential area.
What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
I feel like I've come a long way and I'm starting to think about new things. Sometimes in some renovation projects I couldn’t believe that my team and I were able to find such an architectural and engineering solution.
What makes a design successful?
Successful design. This is a self-sufficient design of a work that will be appreciated by generations of people after us.
When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
When assessing interior design, I include more than 20 types of criteria by which I can decide for myself how successful this project is.
From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
The responsibilities of the Urbanist designer are to explain to society by what rules people can exist in the city and not only consume as an appendage of society.
How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
It's a difficult question. In Europe, this is most likely decoration and the lack of modern standards for technological home improvement
Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
In my country there are a huge number of architects and builders who influenced my development as an architect, especially during the period of the pioneers of modernism 1927-1952
How do you work with companies?
I cooperate with related companies that participate in our project
What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
First of all, look at the high-quality execution of working documentation. Documentation must be completed in the BIM 200-300 system
Can you talk a little about your design process?
We design using three-dimensional models of both buildings and interiors. And we pay especially much attention to the detailed elaboration of plans, engineering systems and furniture fittings. as well as the creation of detailed documentation for supplying the object with materials.
Can you describe a day in your life?
At the beginning, I hide in a bomb shelter because, as a rule, we are bombed from 4 am to 9 am. Then I come to the workshop and start communicating with subcontractors on projects that are currently in progress. our working day is 18 hours.
Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
Friends, be sure to develop curiosity in yourself, draw a lot in order to train your brain, do a lot of modeling in order to train your motor skills. Develop the second hemisphere of the brain. This is necessary in order to immerse yourself in the virtual world of today and tomorrow.
How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
Our team completed a recent project in London 250m2 in 31 days We did some of our projects within 1 year.
What are your future plans? What is next for you?
If Putin does not detonate a nuclear bomb in Ukraine, then I think that the time after the war will be happy
How can people contact you?
I think people interested in professional communication can contact me
Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
Main question!!!! Friends, professionals, the time for change has come; you cannot design housing without taking into account the fact that today robots are becoming an integral part of society. It is necessary to radically reconsider the function of designing residential buildings, taking into account robotic service personnel

Extended Interview with Vitalii Dorokhov

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
In those ancient hours when I was a child, I wanted to invent sea ships because I had the opportunity to visit design firms that designed ocean-going ships. Later I became interested in designing cruise ship interiors.
How did you become a designer?
I constantly had images of futuristic starship interiors in my head and I wanted to learn how to create drawings so that I could later implement these interiors in space or on sea ships. This was and is a strong motivator that makes me a designer.
What are your priorities, technique and style when designing?
I attended art school. And when I was 15 years old I started an internship in an architectural studio. There I already consciously realized that I wanted to be a designer.
Which emotions do you feel when designing?
I would like to develop super high-tech residential capsule modules that can be serviced by humanoid robots.
What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer?
I advise young designers to develop the second hemisphere of the brain, it is necessary when working in a virtual environment and when working with three-dimensional models
What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project?
Unfortunately, it's a difficult question. For example, to feel and understand the nature of things, the nature of the material, to capture how the exterior flows into the interior forming a single ensemble.
What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career?
I have more than 20 evaluation characteristics. I can say that the assessment of interior design occurs from a photograph, sometimes the interior can be seen in real life. For me, the general combinatorics of all components is important, for example, the overall harmony of all the walls of the interior in relation to the ceiling and floor. The placement of furniture fittings in the interior environment influences natural light on the interior. How to solve the lighting scheme for evening night lighting. And many many others.
You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?
Now the main thesis of good design is a highly functional design that can take into account the needs of accommodating assistant robots.
What is your day to day look like?
I spend all my free time creating a virtual microdistrict of today, in which the service staff are humanoid robots. I am considering several functional concepts in which robot assistants do not intersect with the transit zones of people, being invisible assistants in people’s homes. A video on this topic can be viewed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4SwP7Dp5u0
How do you know if a product or project is well designed? How do you define good design?
This is the ability to cooperate and communicate during construction with all subcontractors and builders.
What is your biggest design work?
Lufthansa Technik & MERCEDES-BENZ Premium automotive technology conglomerate Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new design for its VIP aircraft cabin. This is an incredible leap in interior design
Who is your favourite designer?
my best interior design in mixed styles using more span structures so that a winter garden can be organized.
Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture?
Develop the ability to express your thoughts on paper. With paints. Create sculptures. This is a 100% direct physical embodiment of your own thoughts. And the main thing is that you need to put a lot of effort into your hands so that the brain perceives the work created by your hands.
Would you tell us more about your work culture and business philosophy?
I would shoot video clips, I would write music in the style of hip-hop rap.
What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect?
Design is what takes me away from the realities of war to the realities of tomorrow
What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award?
my parents. I had many architect teachers who taught me one-on-one their craft.
