Interview with Zhenan Hou

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

When I was in junior high school, I was deeply attracted by the profession of designer on TV and determined to be an excellent designer in the future

Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

In 2017, Mr. Anson Hou founded the studio again. In order to pursue the nature of design, he changed the name of the studio to advocate the essence and devoted himself to designing more unique projects of commercial class

What is "design" for you?

Design is to solve problems, to solve the relationship between space and people

What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?

Think about problems that have not been done well and need improvement

How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

I am optimistic about the development of design and hope that the public can better understand design and technology

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?

I have been interested in design since junior high school, and I have been studying relevant majors in university

Which emotions do you feel when designing?

My design is to respect the logic of function and space, and find the relationship between more people and space. I like to design new experience space

What is your day to day look like?

I wanted to design a house for my family that would be comfortable for them

What is your biggest design work?

They designed buildings that respect nature and the environment, and respect the relationship between people and space

What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect?

Design is to solve problems, to solve the relationship between space and people
