Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
I was enlightened by a professor at the university level. I took the road of architectural design and never stopped.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
My journey to becoming a designer started back on a journey to India in 2008.Sometime in my first few years in the real world, it dawned on me that design plays a major role in communicating at all levels.but we are so in love in the relationship between human & space around it.
What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
This question is very amusing, but what we like most in design is to enjoy every problem solving and propose the most elegant solution.
What was the first thing you designed for a company?
A large-scale public space summer vacation stall with a display space for public participation
What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
We love to find any material that can express emotions for a special space expression. We love the emotion of materials. So we don’t limit the use of materials.even look forward to find out more
What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
Like Andy Dufresne of The Shawshank Redemption getting out the prison.
How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
Like the artists of the Renaissance, the boundaries of the profession are no longer important. Only the sensibility
When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
We have three exciting exhibitions at the same time, and we hope to have a chance to share with you soon.
Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
Taichung, a small city in central Taiwan.Taiwan’s space design industry is very mature and very commercial, and it is both an advantage and a disadvantage.
How do you work with companies?
Most of the time I personally decide all the design directions, and then deepen with the strength of the team.
Can you talk a little about your design process?
first coffee.and wonder how a project could bring out a sense of character in my sight of view.and draw in many possible way.

Extended Interview with CHIH-YUAN,HUNG

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
I was born in an agricultural city in Taiwan, Changhua. Running and playing in the farmland is the daily memory I am used to. Drawing is the most important element in my own soul. In the professional training of architectural design, my tutor at the university gave me a very profound influence.Being accumulating day by day, becoming an architect is the only way I know in the world.
How did you become a designer?
The integration of all possibilities in materials, the owner's life experience, budget, and craftsmanship into a beauty experience is the most important attraction for me.
Which emotions do you feel when designing?
Museum buildings or new forms of architecture and space about education are areas of interest to us next.
What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career?
A good design is judged by the user and not by the designer. all you can do is give your best shot.
You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?
Design always finds good or bad in the first moment of people's use, and finds its value in time. So we love the design that will stand the test of time and expect us to create one ourselves.
What is your day to day look like?
I hope to help Taiwan's most culturally memorable craftsmanship design a new interpretation method.
What is your biggest design work?
What I care about is always a space that clearly conveys an intention, a new understanding of the relationship between people and space.
