Interview with Eleonora Venzaga

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
In 2016 I completed my education as a graphic designer at IED (European Institute of Design) in Rome. Afterward, I started to work as a graphic designer since today, I live and work actually in Rome. I've always imagined myself as a successful designer, there's still a long way to go, I knew what I wanted to do and I tried to become one. Maybe if I hadn't embarked on this artistic career my other options were, to become a helicopter pilot and a neurosurgeon. But at the end of the day, I know I'm doing the best job in the world. Create.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
My current studio is an international creative communication studio. They work with the major international companies in the financial, insurance, scientific, real estate, creative and artistic fields.
What kinds of works do you like designing most?
Mainly brand identity, following a project from birth to continuous evolution over time. I also love to devote myself to pure graphic design, typography, and illustration even if I am not an illustrator, but who knows in time could be another goal.
What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
One of my favorite projects in particular, and also one of the most recent is the rebranding of Dropbox by Aaron Robbs and Nicholas Jitkoff. They managed to give contemporaneity to a brand that was more than 10 years old, with a well-defined identity, I do not deny that I would have liked to participate in this project. I think that they have been able to fully achieve their mission, that is, to inspire with creative energy the users who interface with this service.
What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
I can say paper! I believe that the final printed effect really gives satisfaction, even if the world of paper is dying out, but still resists. And certainly, the technologies I prefer are those that I allow you to design.
When do you feel the most creative?
It seems strange as an answer, but my creativity when I'm under stress and have a short-term delivery prevails over me and I can't contain it.
Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
The uniqueness of the idea, and the durability over time. I think that every project must be unique in its idea.
What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
Sono emozioni indescrivibili, a volte è ansia, a volte è felicità, a volte è paura di fallire, ma poi arriva anche la soddisfazione.
What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
Satisfaction, feeling fulfilled, and ready to start a new project!
What makes a design successful?
Of course the idea, and the realization. A project conceived and with a strong identity will always be successful compared to others. The aesthetic aspect is our showcase to stop people is already a success, giving them a reason to get passionate is the other.
When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
communicative immediacy, creativity, final execution, and simplicity.
From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
As a designer, we have the task of disseminating information, the important thing is how to disseminate it, and that it is clear to everyone.
Can you talk a little about your design process?
My starting point is the analysis, of the context of the project, and then a thorough search for what is needed at that time and what needs to be communicated, and then proceed to the final execution.
Can you describe a day in your life?
There is one thing that unites all the days of my life, a great breakfast, we all need to charge.
Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
Thinking of doing a useful job for society is already a big step, doing this work seriously and not underestimate the artistic and creative environment. It is a world that will never disappear and we have the task of taking care of it.
What are your future plans? What is next for you?
I hope to continue to grow professionally and to improve. And I hope to work all over the world and then return to my country and spread new ideas.
How can people contact you?
I'm very active on social media, especially on Instagram (my profile: ele__settembre) and via email.

Extended Interview with Eleonora Venzaga

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
In 2016 I completed my education as a graphic designer at IED (European Institute of Design) in Rome. Afterward, I started to work as a graphic designer since today, I live and work actually in Rome.
How did you become a designer?
I think that the most beautiful thing I am attracted to in this world is the possibility of helping to make information an interesting thing and also beautiful to see.
What are your priorities, technique and style when designing?
I've always imagined myself as a successful designer, there's still a long way to go, I knew what I wanted to do and I tried to become one.
Which emotions do you feel when designing?
Mainly brand identity, following a project from birth to continuous evolution over time. I also love to devote myself to pure graphic design, typography, and illustration even if I am not an illustrator, but who knows in time could be another goal.
What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer?
I'm not yet a design legend, but the important thing is to study the basics of design and keep up to date and continue to deepen your passion. Creating and communicating is not a pastime.
What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project?
Of course the idea, and the realization. A project conceived and with a strong identity will always be successful compared to others. The aesthetic aspect is our showcase to stop people is already a success, giving them a reason to get passionate is the other.
You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?
Because a world without communication cannot exist today. Making good communication means investing in the common good.
How do you keep up with latest design trends? To what extent do design trends matter?
One of my dreams in the drawer is to take over the creative direction of a big fashion brand.
How do you decide if your design is ready?
I believe that the inspiration comes from all the historical and artistic context that has accompanied us until today. My favorite artistic currents are Impressionism, and Bauhaus, which has distorted the artistic canons, creating a dynamic and experimental design.
Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture?
Continuing to study, and to go to workshops even parallel to my skills.
Would you tell us more about your work culture and business philosophy?
Maybe if I hadn't embarked on this artistic career my other options were, to become a helicopter pilot and a neurosurgeon.
What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect?
For me, the design is everything that surrounds us, from magazines to bus tickets to road signs, and design is also in our homes. It's everywhere, just look.
What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award?
A little bit myself, a little bit my family, my mother in particular, who always understood what I wanted in life, and helped me in the choice since I was a child.
