Lihsing Wang, a versatile artist, fashion, and product designer, resides in NYC. Interview with Lihsing Wang

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
I have a master's degree in Industrial design from Pratt Institute and a bachelor's degree from National Taiwan University same major. I was born in a family full of art and design, my father who is also an Industrial designer influenced me a lot, and my mother is an oil painter artist taught me how art can shape the world.
What is "design" for you?
To me, "Design" is the thing that made life easier and happier.
What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
I have very mixed emotions when I design. It very depends on the design I'm working on.
When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
People are still using this design for many years or even generations, the timeless classic design.
Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
I always write a to-do list and estimate finishing time before digging into work.
What are your future plans? What is next for you?

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
I have a master's degree in Industrial design from Pratt Institute and a bachelor's degree from National Taiwan University same major.
How did you become a designer?
I was born in a family full of art and design, my father who is also an Industrial designer influenced me a lot, and my mother is an oil painter artist taught me how art can shape the world.
What are your priorities, technique and style when designing?
Usefulness is the most essential part of my design and collaborates with innovative technology such as digital fabrication to create unity and complex forms.
What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project?
My design studio will lunch a new homeware product that is designed with algorithms made by 3D printers in 2022 spring. Keep in touch!
How do you know if a product or project is well designed? How do you define good design?
People are still using this design for many years or even generations, the timeless classic design.
What is your biggest design work?
The "Body Voice" design project took 12 months to produce.
Would you tell us more about your work culture and business philosophy?
I'd like to work with people with clear minds and who know what he/she is doing.
What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award?
It's was a fun and interesting experience, because I can know my score before submitting my work, this feature gave me more chances to revise my work for a higher rate winning the prize.

Work hard and play harder. Make a fine plan before starting your work.

Good designer product useful products help people live easier, a great designer's work made people reflect on living.
What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career?
People are still using this design for many years or even generations, the timeless classic design.
You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?
A good design introduces a good style of living. It educates users for a better life.
Who is your favourite designer?
The Body Voice project took 12 months to deliver the final model, it took me a lot of time to polish its design and forms.
What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect?
Design is making tools. These tools make people's lives better.
