About Bywater

We have launched an apparel brand for anglers, which is still rare in Japan. Through fashion items, I would like to help spread the wonderful culture of "fishing" that enriches our lives and make it more accessible to the world. Our products are designed not only to be worn stylishly at fishing spots, but also to be worn in the city and at the office with a design that does not appeal fishing too much. We will create such products.

Interview with Bywater

How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
I think the required meaning of design is becoming more important.
Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
Osaka JapanI think traditional culture has influenced my designs.
Can you talk a little about your design process?
Imagine the scene or benefit the user will use the item and start designing. I try to make the design as simple and intuitive as possible.
What are your future plans? What is next for you?
I would like to design items that utilize materials that have never been used before. I have several plans.

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
I design apparel and other products, but I have no specific professional training. However, I did attend a technical school for web design.
How did you become a designer?
The family business was a manufacturer of women's shoes, so I designed shoes. Later, I established my own company, designing and selling apparel and leather items.
You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?
I believe that design is necessary as a means to achieve good objectives.
What is your day to day look like?
I want to design things that people wear and use in their daily lives.
Who is your favourite designer?
The design is based on the image of the user's usage scenario.
