About Home FT3 Single Family House

Home FT3 is a single family house located in Mogliano Veneto, Italy. The house covers about 300 square meters and follows an L shaped plan. A central kitchen volume acts as the pivot of the layout. A double height space is shaped by natural light and holds a light sculpture and the main staircase. The structure is a concrete skeleton that supports the overhangs and an open corner without a column. Exterior walls are clad with insulation and plaster, while interior walls are finished with drywall. Geothermal technology and rainwater collection support energy saving and comfort.

Within the contemporary discourse of residential architecture, Filippo Caprioglio's Home FT3 Single Family House emerges as a refined meditation on the dialogue between built form and landscape, demonstrating how volumetric composition and material restraint can achieve environments of extraordinary spatial generosity and visual clarity. The design appears to engage thoughtfully with modernist precedents while articulating a distinctly personal vocabulary of form, where interlocking white volumes create a choreography of solid and void that responds sensitively to the requirements of domestic life and the qualities of natural light. The architect's technical facility reveals itself in the precise calibration of fenestration, where expansive glazed openings at ground level establish visual and physical continuity with the garden and pool terrace, while more selectively placed upper windows frame specific views and modulate interior illumination. The chromatic decision to employ a consistent white finish across all exterior surfaces amplifies the sculptural reading of the massing, transforming the building into an abstract composition that shifts in character as shadows migrate across its surfaces throughout the day. The integration of the swimming pool extends the architectural gesture into the landscape, its geometric form echoing the rectilinear discipline of the building while introducing aqueous reflection and the sensory pleasure of water into the domestic experience. Landscape elements, including the carefully positioned specimen tree and the immaculate lawn, suggest an understanding of architecture as incomplete without its dialogue with living systems and cultivated nature. The viewer might consider how this residence proposes a particular way of dwelling, one characterized by clarity, openness, and the celebration of light as a primary material of architectural experience.

Production Technology
This house was built with a concrete skeleton to support all the overhang and the open corner with no column. Then is cladded insulation and plaster on the exterior and drywall on the interior
Design Challenge
One of the main challenges was to work in a lot that wasn't too big in which we were called to obtain the client requests in a contemporary building. The house form is an L shape where kitchen plays a very important role as the real fulcrum and volumes and become the hinge of the building. The double height defines the central area characterized by the original design light sculpture; the main staircase is interposed engaging the projecting volume suspended from the ground that contains it. From every point of the house you can enjoy the outdoor infinity pool which is itself an architectural element in continuity with the house.
Project Duration
The project located in Mogliano Veneto, in the province of Treviso, Italy, started in March 2019 and was finished in June 2021
Operation Flow
The house is conceived around the client desires and with clear principles of being sustainable and offer the best confort also in the far future due to the technology used like the geothermal that guarantees an energetic efficiency.
Research
The aim of the project in Mogliano Veneto, Italy is the realization, of a new house with a clear contemporary matrix created with the desire to propose very clean compositional lines and geometries to a formal purity. Surely operating in an urban context very dense with a lot of limitation in term of laws and regulations was a challenge that forced us into a deep research to accomplish everything.
Inspiration
As per all our projects the first two elements of inspiration were the functional aspects based on the client desires combined with the poetry given by the possibility of using the natural light and accordingly positioning the house in the property lot. Those elements were the initial inspiration for the architecture of this project.
