About Atomberg Intellon Water Purifier
Atomberg Intellon is a water purifier for household use. The purifier senses incoming water quality and routes water through only the required treatment stages. This adaptive flow reduces reject water, lowers energy use and limits wear on consumables, so filter life is extended. A taste setting offers flat, smooth and crisp profiles, and an embedded display shows live water quality readings. A halo status ring indicates tank level, operating mode and faults. From the outset, “We didn't want this to feel like a control room dashboard, packed with indicators and controls competing for your attention, “What we were really chasing was something intuitive sentient, and to be admired as a beautiful creation.The team experimented with several concepts before landing on what would become the product's signature: a “halo ring” that also aligns perfectly with our design philosophy, "Through subtle shifts in color and motion, it could tell you everything about what state the product was in, but without ever feeling cluttered or technical. It stayed minimal. Elegant."There's something more to the Halo than function, though. "It gives the purifier this reassuring presence—almost like it's alive, "That sense of intelligence, of design you can trust, comes through without ever shouting for your attention."

"Honestly, the field research changed everything, "We were doing home visits, blind taste tests, talking to people across different regions and geographies —and what we found was that water quality isn't fixed. It even shifts with the seasons even in the same house."Here’s the thing "most purifiers don't know that. They treat every drop the same, whether it needs heavy purification or barely any which just means wasted water.""That's where Adaptive Flow came from—the purifier reads the water and adjusts in real time. The hard part was making something that complex feel effortless. You shouldn't have to think about it. You just trust it's making the right call while doing their bit to save today’s most critical resource “ WATER."

- Design Challenge
- The main challenge was to translate complex, sensor driven purification decisions into a calm product users can trust without a screen. The team balanced reject water reduction, energy efficiency and taste personalization with manufacturable modular cartridges and serviceability. Building reliable self diagnostics that isolate a single failing element rather than triggering blanket filter changes required careful system design within cost and maintenance constraints.
- Research
- We studied water from many parts of India and spoke with families about what they consider “good tasting” drinking water. We tested samples, visited homes, and tried early versions of the purifier. Families also did blind taste checks. This helped define the main water situations and shape Intellon to adjust on its own, offer taste choices, and make service simple saving water and building trust.
- Inspiration
- Intellon was inspired by the mismatch between highly variable household water quality and fixed, over treating purification systems. The project set out to deliver trustworthy, great tasting drinking water with substantially lower reject water, energy and service waste, while presenting a calm, hygienic form with glanceable feedback of vitals.

- Users dispense water by pressing the front liver; The Status Ring shows tank level and operating mode at a glance and flags faults. users can switch between the different Taste profiles via app. The display provides live TDS analysis.
