About Moonlit Garden Wuxi Sales Center

Moonlit Garden Wuxi is a sales center located in the New District of Wuxi, China. The interior uses regional materials linked to local industry, such as cloth, iron, bamboo and Taihu Lake stone. A twenty meter entrance passage uses mirrors to create repeated reflections that suggest a bamboo forest. The ground floor recalls the historical background of Wuxi through these local materials. A belt of artificial greenery is installed on the ceiling of the underground lounge. The facility remains open like a public park, so local residents can meet and interact.

Moonlit Garden Wuxi Sales Center by Prism Design exemplifies a distinguished synthesis of contemporary spatial practice and enduring principles drawn from traditional garden design, demonstrating how commercial environments may transcend purely transactional purposes to become sites of contemplative experience and aesthetic elevation. The installation positions itself within the broader movement of biophilic design, which recognizes humanity's innate affinity for natural forms and living systems, here manifested through an extraordinary suspended botanical composition that transforms the ceiling plane into a verdant canopy reminiscent of forest understory viewed from below. The technical achievement evident in this work merits particular attention: the precise geometric framing of organic growth, the integration of concealed illumination systems that animate foliage without visible hardware, and the masterful deployment of reflective surfaces that multiply spatial perception demonstrate sophisticated coordination between architectural vision and technical execution. The central water feature, narrow yet commanding in its axial placement, functions simultaneously as circulatory guide, symbolic threshold, and meditative focus, inviting associations with classical garden traditions wherein water channels direct both physical movement and contemplative attention. Warm wood surfaces provide tactile counterpoint to the cool verdancy above, establishing a chromatic dialogue that suggests the complementary relationship between cultivated nature and crafted shelter. The rhythmic placement of bamboo elements throughout the space honors traditional material vocabularies while reinterpreting them within a contemporary formal language of clean lines and precise intervals. One might observe how this environment proposes an alternative model for commercial space, one wherein the act of entering becomes an opportunity for sensory renewal and psychological refreshment. What aspects of garden experience does this interior translate into architectural terms, and how might such translations enrich our understanding of what commercial spaces could become?

Inspiration
The main buildings concept came from Japanese culture.
At the beginning this annex building of public passage which necessary to lead to the main building.
So that's why we use bamboo image for this space.
Just use one straight space for 20 meters passage and the other space use for storage. Seeking infinite extent in a finite world.
main building, needed to consider the natural environment.
By it, we installed a belt of green on the ceiling of Underground Lounge section.
