About SugarLady Ladies Brand Pop-up Store Ladies Apparel Popup Store

SugarLady is a pop-up store interior created for a ladies apparel brand in Shanghai, China. The sugar crystal is used as the main theme, linking the interior to the name of the brand. Each display cell is built from a steel frame covered with an industrial nylon sheet. LED panels of 600 by 600 millimetres light the cells from within, so every unit glows softly. The cells are simple and light, so they can be assembled, moved and recombined in many arrangements. The total area is 6 by 10 metres and includes a fitting room.

Production Technology
The illustration were coming from 600mm*600mm LED panel.
The cover coat was made by industrial nylon sheet, which could save more budgets as well as providing better illustration effects.
Design Challenge
As a pop store, we need to made our design simplified enough to be constructed and removed. At the same time, there's not enough light for the exhibition, so additional light design was required. So we made several cells, each was just made by steel bones and industrial nylon sheet surface, each to build and move. Also, we put light in it to make it glowing from inside.
Research
The most important part for this design is the understanding of the brand culture. We thought deeply of the meaning of Sugar Lady and then came up with the sugar crystal idea.
Inspiration
The name of the brand is Sugar Lady. We extracted Sugar as our key elements. By observing sugar crystal, we came up with the idea of using steel and canvas as a metaphor of charming women. Time gave them strength. However, inside their heart they were still as sweet and beauty as they always are.
Project Duration
The project was built on 15th August 2016, in ShangHai, China. The exhibition lasted for two weeks.
Operation Flow
The key point of this design is changeable, which means all the cells of those sugar crystal can be re-combined and moved all around, just depends on how the users would like to arrange them.
