The pieces of xiangqi are always kept in a 2-dimensional feature with a round object engraved with Chinese characters and never changed before. Because of this monotonous shape, more and more youngsters tend to regard xiangqi as a board game for the elderly. So this design is to meet rising aesthetic needs of people, arousing interests of the young in this ancient puzzle game in a result of increasing the market share of the game. That means this unique Chinese culture is no longer confined to the group of middle and old aged people, but can also become a trend in the younger generation.
