Koncept grafičkog dizajna i vizuelna komunikacija za Art magazin Afterimages je koherentan: od logotipa, identiteta do izgleda. Glavni cilj projekta bio je da se uhvati u koštac s naslijeđem Strzeminski Akademije likovnih umjetnosti u Lođu i stvori njegovu modernu verziju koja proizlazi iz avangardne tradicije. Papir grubog kvaliteta, tehnika suhog štancanja, boja štampe (Pantone) koja je nanesena na korice, odgovara temi svakog broja. Časopis je bogato ilustrovan, ispunjen kvalitetnim fotografijama i po tom pitanju podsjeća na life style magazin.

Afterimages Časopis je pobjednik Srebrne nagrade A' Design Award, izuzetno prestižnog priznanja koje se dodjeljuje vrhunskim, veličanstvenim i impresivnim dizajnima. Srebrni pobjednici iznimno su briljantna i vrlo kreativna djela koja ilustriraju izuzetnu stručnost, talent i oštroumnost svojih dizajnera. Očekuje se da Afterimages Časopis bude divno, reprezentativno djelo koje je izuzetno profesionalno i duboko inovativno. Ovaj dizajn koji je osvojio Srebrnu nagradu A' Design Award vrlo je zapažen, nadaleko cijenjen izum koji koristi i pomjera granice umjetnosti, nauke, dizajna i tehnologije. Afterimages Časopis je kreacija kojoj se mnogi dive i zavide, koja budi želje, donosi pozitivne osjećaje i raspiruje čuđenje i divljenje.

Unique Properties: Bigger format, rough high quality paper from the 'csm' collection, dry-stamping technique, the printing color (Pantone) applied to the cover corresponds to the topic of each issue. The magazine is richly illustrated, filled with high-quality photos, and in this respect it resembles life style magazines. It is the first printed magazine published by the Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz and it is available not only for students and teaches, it is distributed nationwide.

Design Challenge: The challenge was to create a design of the magazine, on the one hand, referring to the avant-garde tradition, and on the other, creating its modern, fresh version. It was a challenge to reach interested recipients, create a platform and a community around the magazine and create a magazine with premium design, content and paper on a limited budget and with a small team.
Research: The artistic and scientific, thematic magazine Powidoki (Afterimages) is published by the Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz (Poland). The periodical is devoted to significant artistic and scientific events. It contains critical texts about art and design as well as interviews with prominent figures of the world of culture and higher education from Poland and abroad.
Inspiration: The inspiration of the project was the heritage of the Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts Lodz and their great artists: Strzeminski, Kobro, Hiller, the avangarde, which was established over one hundred years ago. An afterimage is an image that continues to appear in the eyes after a period of exposure to the original image. Our brain produces it when we stare at something for a long time. This image is not as obvious as it seems at first glance. It is blurred and not clear.
Project Duration: The first issue of the magazine was created and published in 2019. By mid-2021 it has been published five issues of 'Afterimages' (two issues per year). Place of the creation of the magazine: Lodz, Poland.
Operation Flow: Interaction with the magazine: high quality print and paper, stamping can be felt under your finger, qr codes.
