About The Mask That Ate The Virus Masg Dileu Firws
Datblygodd y cwmni biotechnoleg o'r Swistir, Livinguard, ffabrig ar gyfer masgiau y gellir eu hailddefnyddio sy'n analluogi ac yn dileu bacteria, ffyngau a firysau (gan gynnwys Covid 19) wrth iddynt daro. Daw'r syniad hwn yn fyw yn y deunydd pecynnu: Mae'r masg yn dod mewn pecyn sterile. Mae stribed plastig sydd ynghlwm yn animeiddio – wrth ei lithro i fyny ac i lawr – ddarlun graffig o firws sy'n cael ei fwyta yn y broses, gan ychwanegu ychydig o hiwmor mawr ei angen mewn dyddiau anobeithiol. Er mwyn osgoi cymysgu masgiau ymhlith aelodau'r teulu, ac felly draws-halogiad, daw clipiau addasu o wahanol liwiau mewn amlen ar wahân i addasu pob masg.

- Design Challenge
- Finding the right materials and printing technology that would allow for a highly accurate production needed for the animation to work.
- Research
- To bring the virus-eliminating process to life in the packaging, we made use of a century old technique: Moiré Animation – creating an optical illusion of animated frames, with the graphic depiction of a virus getting 'eaten' in the process.
- Inspiration
- Swiss biotech company Livinguard developed a textile for reusable masks that inactivates bacteria, fungi, and viruses (incl. Covid 19) upon impact.
The product idea is brought to life in the packaging:
The mask comes in a sterile package. An attached plastic strip animates – when slid up and down – a virus that is getting eaten in the process, adding some urgently needed humor in desperate days. - Project Duration
- The product was launched in May 2020. Up to date 5 Million masks were produced. Market: China/Worldwide
- Operation Flow
- The task was to communicate a new, unique product advantage to the consumer via the packaging: that a simple textile can provide protection, every single day.
- Patents
