About Jstone Italian Kitchen and Bar Restaurant-Innenarchitektur

Design Challenge
The project design cycle is short, and it is necessary to make a good design effect within the owner's limited budget. At the same time, the relevant design must also face the review opinions of the leaders from the marketing department of the complex. Designer must come up with a highly feasible design plan in a short period of time in order to meet the needs of all aspects.
Research
Shanghai is a city with coexistence of modern construction and historical buildings, and the location of some new commercial complex projects often has profound historical and cultural heritage. This restaurant design shows how to preserve the local historical and cultural characteristics in the design of commercial projects and shows the spatial environment in line with the urban cultural background. In addition, space can absorb local cultural elements through design, and uses decorative style design techniques to create an exquisite dining environment to reflect the essence of Shanghai-style culture, so as to achieve the coexistence of decorative aesthetics and classic culture.
Inspiration
The project site is in Dongjiadu area, which located in the old city downtown and owns the first Catholic church in Shanghai, a lot of blending Chinese and Western cultures has long been witnessed there. So as to continue the design concept of "sailing through the East and the West". The entire restaurant space is inspired by the classical architectural form of The Shikumen from the Shanghai traditional neighborhood, and reshaping the space by Art deco details in order to give a new spatial tonality of "contemporary Shanghai style" to make the entire space more refined, elegant and tasteful.
Project Duration
The project started in June 2021 in Shanghai and finished in October 2021 in Shanghai.
Operation Flow
The originality of the design comes from the first Catholic church in the history of Shanghai next to the restaurant. The terrace of the restaurant can see the church very close. Also, the shape of the church is elegant and combines Chinese and Western elements, so the interior decoration details of the restaurant also pay homage to it, and use the popular Shanghai style in it to make the whole space refined, elegant and tasteful.
