About Urla Ĉefa Funkcio: Gastejo

Unique Properties
Urla Guest House is conceived as a refined boutique extension of the main villa, offering an independent yet cohesive living experience. The integration of micro concrete and natural wood surfaces establishes a warm, modern atmosphere, while the design emphasizes permeability, natural light, and a strong connection to its surroundings.
Dimensions & Packaging
The project comprises 60 square meters of interior space and 65 square meters of outdoor areas, including a pool, lounge, and landscaped garden. A ceiling height of 320 cm, combined with expansive openings, enhances spatial perception and daylight continuity. Production Technology
Natural and durable materials are prioritized to ensure longevity and timeless appeal. Micro concrete is applied on floors and selected walls to achieve a seamless and continuous surface. Natural wood elements and custom-designed separators introduce warmth and spatial definition. Precise craftsmanship, refined detailing, and controlled material transitions preserve the integrity of the design while enhancing its tactile and visual quality.
Design Challenge
The main challenge was to design a compact yet spacious environment without compromising comfort or functionality. Instead of conventional solid walls, carefully crafted wood separators maintain visual continuity while subtly defining different zones. Establishing a strong connection between interior and exterior spaces within a limited footprint required precise spatial planning, resulting in a fluid, cohesive, and highly functional living experience that enhances both usability and overall spatial quality.
Research
The Urla Guest House is conceived as a refined living environment that balances privacy and openness within a natural setting. Interior and outdoor spaces are treated as a unified whole, supporting a seamless and integrated lifestyle. Natural materials, soft spatial transitions, and filtered light enhance continuity and spatial depth, while the compact layout is carefully optimized to maximize comfort, functionality, and an efficient use of space without compromising design integrity.
Inspiration
Inspired by the calm rhythm of Aegean lifestyle and the natural character of Urla. The design balances simplicity openness and a strong connection with nature. It complements the main villa while maintaining its own identity. Natural materials soft transitions and filtered light create a serene and refined atmosphere.
Project Duration
Located in Urla, Izmir, Turkey, the guest house is designed as an extension of the main villa. Developed simultaneously, it ensures architectural continuity. The project is planned to meet functional and aesthetic needs and will be implemented during the construction phase.
Operation Flow
The layout is designed to provide a fluid and intuitive spatial experience. Kitchenette, living, and sleeping areas are organized within a continuous open-plan scheme, ensuring functional clarity and visual continuity. Solid wood separators subtly define zones without interrupting the overall flow, while expansive openings enhance the connection to the garden and pool, allowing natural light and landscape to become integral elements of a relaxed and cohesive living environment.
