About Dexig.NA Primary Function: Muokattava minilaukku

Book Text: Dexig.NA on muokattava, naudannahasta valmistettu minilaukku. Nimi yhdistää sanat design ja DNA. Laukun muoto on kierteinen, ja se on saanut inspiraationsa geenien muodosta. Eläimistä, kasveista ja hyönteisistä ammennetut kuviot painetaan nahkaan digitaalisella painomenetelmällä. Laukun sisällä olevat kevyet magneetit mahdollistavat kuvioiden vapaan kiinnittämisen ja irrottamisen, joten jokainen käyttäjä voi luoda oman henkilökohtaisen designinsa. Laukun mitat ovat 220 x 25 x 90 millimetriä. Tavoitteena on auttaa ihmisiä ilmaisemaan persoonallisuuttaan ja rakentamaan suhteita.

Unique Properties: Design your own DNA. DexigNA
Humans get happiness in various relationships with people. I thought about how a designer could help people build relationships. I designed a bag that allows users to express each other's personalities metaphorically so that they can attract each other's attention. Dexig.NA is a compound word of Design and DNA that is a twisted leather bag designed inspired by the form of genes.
Dimensions & Packaging: Size : 220mm*25mm*90mm

Production Technology: After extracting the line with Rhino, a bag was made using cow leather. The pattern was printed by digital printing on the leather.
Design Challenge: It was the hardest to create a twisted shape like a gene. However, after prototyping from numerous angles, I found the most appropriate degree of twist.
Research: Humans become happy through relationship. I designed DexigNA from the question that how the designer can increase the number of human encounters. Can't we wear our own personality that we judge? As if expressing oneself through fashion, hairstyle, and makeup to radiate charm, the personality can also be expressed metaphorically through fashion! Linea Pelle's leather was supported, and it was produced under the guidance of Professor Kanghyun Lee and Cheolyong Choi of Hongik University.
Inspiration: We are created and live by a given gene. The DexigNA project, which started with the idea of'Can't users design their own genes?', is inspired by the twisted and connected forms of genes. The pattern design is inspired by the patterns of animals, plants, and insects. Because we use different creatures a lot when comparing their friends, family, or else. Users can freely decorate their bags using patterns and magnets attached to each bag.
Project Duration: The project was started from March 16 to July 3, 2020, and will be exhibited at the Hongik University exhibition place in LineaPelle, Italy in the spring of 2021.
Operation Flow: This bag is attractive in itself as user can customize their own mini bag even if the user does not know the purpose and meaning of the bag or pattern. There is a light magnet inside the bag. Users can freely attach and detach the pattern they want to design the bag as if creating their own genes.
